Classic Car Overview

PRICE REDUCED by $10,000!! This 1953 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Teviot III Touring Limousine is considered the best looking and one of the most desired bodies on the Silver Wraith chassis. WVH89 has benefitted from a no-expense spared restoration from 2001-2004 that is documented with a huge file of receipts totaling in excess of $125,000 (and this is not a comprehensive file, were sure) plus an additional $40,000 of detailed restoration, service and maintenance performed by its present owner. This Silver Wraith would be competitive in most all concours events but would be sublime to enjoy through wine country or just to and from a wonderful dinner. This was a restoration performed with the top experts in the world and was part of a collection of 50 Rolls-Royces, with few miles added since. This Rolls was ordered new by JL Wild, Esq of JB Edwards & Co, Ltd in Surrey, England. The chassis was completed by January 1, 1953 (originally built as a LHD chassis and then changed at the factory to RHD), and was delivered to Hooper & Co, Ltd on October 12, 1954. Mr. Wild received the Rolls on November 16, 1954, and enjoyed it until December 10, 1962, when it was acquired by The Caterham Motor Co, Ltd in Surrey. Then on May 7, 1965, the Rolls was shipped to its new owner Mr. Hugh Leighton in Ardseley, New York. The livery is completed in Tudor Gray that is done in a more modern Phantom Gray (Paint Code PPG 01E3). The paint is beautiful and perfect save for a few light scratches from being stored for many years in the collection. The chrome is absolutely breathtaking as well as the stainless steel, all being finished by Pauls Chrome. Look closely at the grill surround, beautifully polished and brilliant! It is very rare that we see such gorgeous chrome and stainless. It is also complimented by the proper R100 headlights, FT 67 center spotlight and SFT 576 fog lights. It also features the Heavy Duty Wilmot Breeden bumpers, which give it a more modern look. The exterior is in overall gorgeous condition. The interior is a gorgeous light beige leather and is actual Connolly leather and is nearly perfect in every way. The leather is soft and supple and shows no sign of wear. The matching beige Wilton wool carpeting is also excellent. There is a Beige mouton sheepskin overlay on top of the rear carpeting that is beautiful. The headliner has been refinished in a gorgeous complementary beige silk brocade and is absolutely stunning and elegant. The leather was supplied by the Rolls-Royce supplier, the darker burl wood veneers were refinished by Madera Concepts and all the new bits were supplied by Albers Rolls-Royce, now Bentley of Zionsville. Nothing was skimped. Still installed is the original radio. The liquor cabinet in the rear passenger compartment has a correct crystal bottle and the picnic tables and footrests complete the overall sense of pure elegance. The fuel gauge and clock are not presently functioning. The engine compartment is finished at a conc
