1953 Pontiac Chieftan Convertible. This is a Chieftan Deluxe model and was originally a straight 8 cylinder with a Hydramatic trans. The second number 8 in the VIN sequence identifies this as originally an 8 cylinder car This car is really rough and missing a lot of parts but most of the really hard to find Convertible parts are all there. Top bows and latches, visor brackets etc. are still intact. No engine or trans, steering column or gauges and the hood, "Silver Streak" and hood ornament are actually 54 Pontiac not 53. This car is the basic raw material for a really cool custom or rat rod as I think it's too far gone for a full on restoration, but it is definitely a rare and seldom seen body style.
