The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

1953 MG TD - 1250cc Inline 4 - Two Owner Car - British Racing Green - Documented Professional restorative work done to the car - 28 years owned - (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, its possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are not presented due to website limitations. After returning home from Europe, many GIs hoped to buy small European sports cars to enjoy at home in America. The TD was slightly bigger than the oldest sibling of the T-Type MGs, the TC, and was the first post-war model exported to the United States after the TC. This particular TD rolled off the assembly line in the last year of production of the TD model, and being finished in British Racing Green really sets off this iconic British roadster. Our client purchased this beautiful TD in June of 1991 and upon purchase was told that there was only one other owner. Just two owners in 66 years is pretty remarkable. More recently, in 2006 and 2007, a great deal of work was completed on the car, specifically mechanical work. In a very short glance of the pages and pages of documentation that our client provided with the MG, we can see that the gas tank was replaced, carbs cleaned and rebuilt, pistons were replaced, timing chain, and tensioner were replaced, as well as necessary gaskets and seals. That of course is a very small list of the work that was done to the car. The result is a turn-key TD that is a great little car for motoring along! At the front of the car is a 1250cc Inline 4 engine mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox. After the engine work completed on the car, this car runs and drives smoothly. The paint and body were not changed much during our clients ownership, so while the British Racing Green paint is a beautiful color it does show its age in a few small spots. A couple cracks in the paint, and a few small scratches are to be expected with a paint job that is so old. The tan interior provides such a nice contrast to the British Racing Green bodywork. The body work at the front of the car flows past the windscreen and meets the wood dashboard. Jaeger gauges, wood steering wheel, polished hand brake handle, a simple wood MG shift knob, and comfortable seats covered in tan leather all help make this classic MGs interior a great place to be. This is a well sorted example finished in a beautiful color combination. After 28 years of ownership of this gorgeous TD, you have the chance to own it. Changes in life have lead our client to decide to sell this car, but your chance for a little change in your life in the form of a BRG MB TD is right here!
