Classic Car Overview
1953 Jaguar XK 120 $115,500
PRICE DROP: TO $115,500. FROM $119,500. 12/21/2017
This "refreshed" 1953 Jaguar XK120MC DHC black beauty (chassis S677155) wears the original factory color combination of black exterior and dark red interior surrounded with burl walnut wood, and is the 155th LHD DHC convertible built out of a total production of 1471 LHD cars, showing 13709 on speedo.
The 3.4L engine block is mated with the special ordered Jaguar "C-type" racing head which, utilizing its dual exhaust pipes, produces 210 BHP earning it the "SE" special-equipment designation in the UK, aka "MC" modified-competition in the USA.
Numbers matching S677155 was purchased from the estate of Ivy, Virginia architect Fredrick Bainbridge III, and was part of his locally well known classic car collection from 1992 until November 2013, when it was shipped to the mountain town of Tehachapi, CA to be included in the Jaguar collection of retired Aerospace Engineer Mr. V.J. Apicella.
Mr. Apicella kept the originality of the car by "refreshing" its condition (not body off restoration) with new: black paint, red upholstery/carpets in cockpit & trunk, black top/gray liner, black top boot cover/red piping, burl walnut wood, and re-chromed grill/lights/bumpers.
Included are: tool roll with tools, grease gun, tire pump, chassis screwjack & ratchet handle, copper/rawhide tipped wheel knock-off hammer, windscreen washer bottle and hoses, owner's manual, factory technical manual, custom 3-ring binder containing pertinent photos and copies of original factory advertisements/racing accomplishments, folder with invoices, and a Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Certificate authenticating the "matching numbers".
The car is garaged in the "gated" community of Bear Valley Springs, located in the Southern California mountain town of Tehachapi, a 1 hour drive from the Bakersfield airport (BFL) and 2 hour drive from the LAX airport.
The car has participated in six 2017 classic car shows and won awards, which will be included.
UPDATED NOTE: S677155 received the "Best Jaguar" Award presented by "Jaguar Monterey Dealership"
S677155 WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION/TEST DRIVE ON FRIDAY 8/18/2017 NOON UNTIL 5 PM AT PACIFIC GROVE CAR SHOW ON LIGHTHOUSE AVE, PACIFIC GROVE, CA DURING MONTEREY BAY CARE WEEK.
