Classic Car Overview
1953 Ford F100 flathead V8. 50thyear anniversary of Ford trucks. I found this behind an old gentleman’s house in Wagoner OK. There were trees growing up through the bed. A tree limb had fallen on the hood. The man said he had the flathead V8 rebuilt by Ford and that the brakes were bad and he parked it behind the house. That was 30 years ago. I turned the crank and it was free. I looked in the radiator and it was full and green. I bought it and brought it home. I changed the oil and filter, which was clean. I cleaned out the carb and fed a line to the carburetor from a jug. It started and ran great. I drove it around the yard and then parked it. That was 3 years ago. In Oct I went out to start it and it is seized. I don’t know why. Maybe a head gasket leaked when I started it. A tree limb fell on the hood and damaged the cowling in front of the windshield. It is all complete except for side mirrors. It has a little rust inside cab and passenger door, and on driver’s side where the running board meets the fender. There is a little bondo on passenger side in front of door. I have replaced the gas tank, filler tube and cap, master brake cylinder, brake lines, fuel lines, fuel pump. I have two new water pumps. Carb is clean and great. Trans and gears worked smoothly. Brakes need done. Original seat and interior, dash complete. Original horn button with “50th yr. Anniversary ‘Ford Trucks”. I had generator redone and new starter. Tires are good 15” I added. I bought a hood for it in Kansas. Original hood also but a tree limb fell on it. All badges and emblems in tact. $5,500. I live in Fort Gibson, OK Derek 918-869-one two 2 nine. It is licensed and clear title in my name.
