Classic Car Overview

General Motors redesigned their tuck line for the1947 model year making them larger, stronger and sleeker than its predecessor. Thisgeneration was referred to as the Advance –Design series and was produced by Chevroletuntil 1955. This particular example was sold new in Arkansas and did not cometo the Midwest until the 2nd owner purchased it in 1995. It hasnever been driven in the winter and has been garaged since new. The odometercurrently shows 67,962 miles which is believed to be accurate. It is equippedwith a 260 ci straight 6 referred to as a 261 that is from 1955. The 261 wasintroduced in 1954 as an optional engine upgrade for heavy-duty trucks. Thetransmission was upgraded to a 5 speed manual from a 1988 ¾ ton Chevy thatenables the engine to run effortlessly. Besides the driveline, the chromehubcaps, the Custom Autosound stereo, the fact that it was converted to a 12volt system and that the battery was moved to the engine bay this truck is veryoriginal and rust free. The driveline was rebuilt before it was installed inthe early 2000’s and less than 2,000 miles have been put on it since. Withinthe last 2 years all of the gauges were rebuilt and all work as they should. When the current owner purchased it in 1995 it had recently been repainted. Thepaint has held up well but is starting to show its age. The wood used for thefloor of the bed and the rails is solid oak and still shows like new. The truckhas a new Custom Autosound stereo, a new battery, newer tires and it wasrecently serviced. You can jump in it right now and drive it all day withoutany concern. Based on this truck’s present condition we would classify it as avery strong #3 vehicle and as such would appraise it at the current N.A.D.A.average retail value plus 25% which comes to $43,875.00. We are serious aboutselling it and have priced it accordingly. If you agree don’t wait until it’stoo late to call!
