For consignment, youll see what all the fuss is about regarding the Wolf Whistle intro in this 1953 Chevrolet 210 Club Coupe. Here we have a robin egg blue example of a nifty fifties hot rod which has been shaved, frenched and maybe even lowered just a bit, but its definitely HOT! Some snaky snarling side pipes, a Corvette grille, flourish painted accenting pin-striping, and plenty of chrome mirrors and searchlights hanging off of this car. All straight steel with their gaps being well minded, and a snappy interior to go along with the exterior. Im prompted who do a wolf whistle at this car, and my eyes are popping out of my head because it did it for me, right from its horn to my ears...I guess it thinks Im sexy, but thats a whole nuther path to go down if I was referring to Rod Stewart! Exterior Simplify was the word bird, with frenched head and tail lighting, and shaved of its chromed trimmings save for the front and rear bumper and side pipes. Robin egg blue, from Emeron paint, floods the exterior of this entire car and it is looking very smart, and light blue! Some extra trimmings are still on around the base of the roofline, glass, and a belt line trim spear running the gamut of this car. It sports a chromed 1957 Corvette grille. Live chromed side pipes are residing on each rocker on each side, and not shown in the pictures ...the car has neon under lighting. Cue the Wolf Whistle! Its an award winner and star of the small boob tube screen, it appeared in a story about Carlisle Chevrolet meet...Film at 11. On back it is aptly named the Wanderer, all buttoned up and with two tone dark blue and deep maroon flourishes highlighting various sections of this automobile. 17-inch polished 5 spoke American Racing Torque Thrust wheels are on all 4 corners. Interior A swing of the doors and we shake hands with a robins egg blue door sill and then the hits just keep in comin with white vinyl uppers, a chromed delineation with a question mark shape and on to the blue broadcloth with tuck and roll vertical ribs. Lowers are in dark blue carpeting, as are the floors of this beautiful beast. Seats are a split front bench in all custom with their silver bowtie badge in the centers also showing a 53 within them... kewl! The upper backs are made up of a white vinyl. The mids are light blue vertical tuck and roll broadcloth and then on to more white vinyl. Piping is seen throughout the seats front and back benches and all have seat belts now installed. Upfront the dash has been modernized, (Lions and Tigers and Bears...OH MY!), with a peppering of blackface gauges in the round next to the original speedo. These gauges now reside on a field of ribbed aluminum and off to the drivers left hangs a tachometer. Below some black metal for the knobs and pulls, a B&M transmission torque converter lockup control box, and an aftermarket DMS AM/FM/CD stereo player. Just above is a plethora of more vertical chromed ribs hiding the front speaker and moving over to face the glovebox on the passengers side. The obligatory fuzzy dice are also upfront, and some flame flourishes are next to the B&M box. Very apropos. On the hump is a T handle shift lever. Press the horn button and the Wolf comes out of this car clad in sheeps clothing. Drivetrain Under the hood and Im goin to Mot rhead church and picking my pew as there are more pipes than a Wurlitzer merry go round organ on this mill! This wild and wooly setup is a 383ci V8 and it has EFI in stack form on top and a 700R4 4-speed auto tranny on back. Waaaay back is a 10 bolt 3.73 pumpkin. Headers help greatly with the exhale and the side-pipes definitely rack off , (a term we used to use in High School but Im bringing it back!), the sound in a semi closed in area. I see an aluminum radiator, like new master cylinder and the rest is detailed and tinted up to the nines. Undercarriage Words like clean, rust free, awesome, undercoated etc can be used here as all is looking just fab. Clean stamped steel floor pans are helping keep the underside structurally sound. Independent coil springs are on front along with power steering, and leaf springs for the back are bolted on. Aoll supported by a Camaro subframe. Power disc braking has been put in replacing the tired old drums. Also power steering is now on. Rock n Roll! (Oh! wait, it hasnt been invented yet!) Drive-Ability I felt like nuthin but a hound dog, as I slipped inside for the test drive. This beast fired right up and off to the test track and then eventually town to show it off and make some noise. Yup! All was working swimmingly save for the tires rubbing at full steering lock in front, and the exhaust leaks, so you may want to have that checked before you go to sleep. Tex Avery would be proud of this sexy beast and it is a fun driver and definite head turner. Its done just right baby bear on the mods, and it runs fab!
