Classic Car Overview
This car is in great shape (now) for a 75 year old car. Ive started your full restoration. You take it and finish it how youd like. It runs, drives, shifts, stops. Ive repaired the headlights, brake lights, taillights, license plate light, repaired or replaced a lot of wiring, seats removed and refurbished then upholstered, floors wire brushed, sanded coated with rust reformer and painted with rust stop red primer/paint, rust at the driver and passenger positions cut out and replaced with fresh steel plate, resealed, painted etc, dash, doors, roof and trunk sanded primed and painted. Floors/trunk covered with sound deadening butyl rubber and covered with dark grey carpet. New headlight switch, push button start installed and wired. Engine is the straight 8, 288. Block flushed and 1 rusted out freeze plug replaced. Water pump replaced. Thermostat/water neck replaced. Radiator replaced with a 3 core all aluminum model with integrated transmission oil cooler. Upper and lower coolant hoses replaced. Fan belt replaced. New battery. New block, frame and body grounds added... This is still a 6-volt dc positive ground car. Generator cleaned/repaired, rewired, working. New spark plugs, new plug wires, new 6 volt coil, cap, rotor and points were cleaned. Points gap checked. Timing adjusted. All function well. Carburetor was taken apart and cleaned and placed back on the car with new gaskets and accelerator pump. Throttle linkage was repaired (rusted and broken) and adjusted. The Packard accelerator pedal starting system was bypassed and wired to a push button on the dash. Analog oil pressure and water temperature gauges were installed. Car idles with about 25 psi oil pressure. Body was left in its natural patina state. It has rust holes in all the normal places on the body but they're not excessive for its age. The frame has only normal surface rust. Brake and fuel lines were checked, cleaner ran through and blown out. Any rubber fuel or brake line sections were replaced. Body trim is complete. Front left driver fender spear trim replaced. Passenger fender straight trim replaced. Cormorant Swan hood ornament replaced. Headlight bezels/beauty ring repaired so that they stay on the car. New jet louvers installed on the rear passenger door/fender. Heater core function is unknown. It was bypassed assuming it would need to be replaced. Drums and brake hardware were removed, inspected, cleaned, grease items greased, wheel bearings checked, repacked and re-installed. 3 brake wheel cylinders were repaired with new seals, cups, springs and cylinders honed. 1 brake wheel cylinder was replaced. Master cylinder was repaired the same. Front brake hoses were replaced. Brakes bled and tested. They work well. The fuel tank was removed, drained, inside and out cleaned, patched, painted and re-installed. No leaks. When it was removed, I found it didnt have a sending unit. It was re-installed without one as well. Mechanical fuel pump was testing and was working but was weak and pumping fuel into the oil. So it was bypassed and a 6 volt, 4 to 8 psi, carter electric fuel pump along with filters pre-pump and pre-carburetor. Works well, no leaks. Wheels were removed, wire brushed and sanded as needed. Painted. New steel 2 piece valve stems/cores installed. Installed new 235/75/R15 tires. All leak checked, no leaks. Packard hubcaps were cleaned up and hand painted and re-installed. Oil changed. Transmission is the 2 speed Ultramatic with high low lock-up. Trans pan removed, valve body, filter and oil pan cleaned and reinstalled with fresh ATF and a new filler cap. Block off plate cut, painted and installed on the transmission tunnel (see images). Cell phone mount and blue tooth speaker installed (for GPS speedo and music etc). New cupholder installed on the trans tunnel. New floor mats. New drivers door rearview mirror. Rear diff refilled
It does all the normal things a car does, as it sits. Ive run out of budget for this one, so this is where you pick up and fix or upgrade the things you want. Or drive it as is. Below is what you could fix or upgrade:
Rust hole repair and paint. Windshield wipers (vacuum system). Trunk hinges and lock (I searched to find hinges unsuccessfully) so youd need to keep looking or fabricate a new hinge system. I do have a lock and latch mechanism, but I dont know the status. You can have them. Shocks (Ive ordered some, theyll either be installed or come with the car. Blinkers. I tested them, they dont work and I didnt wire them. The switch and blinker module are in the car. Headliner and door cards need upholstered the way you want them. 3rd member/diff cover leaks, should be resealed. Needs weatherstripping. I have receipts for all of the parts. I've listed it for $4900 or best offer. Make me an offer. I need to move on to the next vehicle to get out of my yard so I'm just looking to rehome this one and get some of my money back. Clean title. Please text 480-888-9636. If you call, LEAVE A MESSAGE about the car and I will call you back. Cash only. No checks. No wires. As is. No warranty, guarantee, implied or expressed. I don't need or want help selling. No scams, don't bother. Vehicle is located near Show Low
