Classic Car Overview

1951 Mercury 2 door sedan. VIN. 51ME89616M. A fantastic, mostly original dry climate west coast car from an Estate! One of the most solid, rust free cars I have seen in years! Flathead V8, Automatic transmission, fender skirts, un-modified body and trim (original). The car was repainted sometime in the past and the interior has been reupholstered. The body is incredible with just a few minor dings and scratches. Interior is nicely done with cloth. It might be considered a very mild custom due to the custom hand painted pin stripes on the body, glass and dash. I doubt you will find a better rust free example anywhere! The car has a rebuilt carb, newer gas tank and has recently had a new battery and electric fuel pump added. It does have a few oil leaks from the oil pan and rear seal but nothing that can't be easily fixed. The flathead starts right up and runs great. During a test drive, I noticed that sometimes you have to manually shift the transmission to get it to shift (not always). I believe it needs an adjustment. The car was purchased from an estate in Nevada where the owner passed away. Comes with a State of Nevada title in the previous owners name. The State of Alabama does not title vehicles 35 years and older. We will provide the purchaser with the State of Nevada title and a bill of sale from the State of Alabama. It has not been registered in Alabama.
