Classic Car Overview

1951 GMC Pickup - 3/4 Ton, 5-Window Cab with Chevy 250 Engine - No Reserve Bring a Trailer Auction!

Offered by Dragers International Classic Sales of Burlington, Washington, this 1951 GMC pickup (VIN: IDA22909, Stock # DGT2909) presents a fantastic opportunity to own a classic truck with significant restoration potential. Featuring a desirable 5-window cab, a newly installed wood bed, and a solid foundation, this pickup is ready for its next chapter.
Key Features:

Year: 1951
Make: GMC
Model: Pickup
VIN: IDA22909, Stock # DGT2909
Cab: Ton, 5-Window Cab (Desirable and offers great visibility)
Engine: Currently fitted with a 1964 Chevy 250 Inline 6-cylinder engine.
Transmission: Four-speed Compound Low manual transmission with floor shifter.
Bed: Newly installed wood bed (functional and adds to the classic look).
Color: Turquoise
Visor: Equipped with a visor for added vintage appeal.
Wheels: Painted black steel wheels.
Hubcaps: Chrome Chevrolet Bonnet style hubcaps.
Tires: Tires are in good condition but are older and may not have date codes.
Title: Clean Washington State Title.

Mechanical:

Engine: The 1964 Chevy 250 inline-6 engine runs and drives, but requires either a rebuild or replacement due to significant noise.
Transmission: Four-speed manual Compound Low transmission shifts appropriately.
Brakes: The brake lights are experiencing an electrical issue. When the brake pedal is depressed, the front turn signals also illuminate. Further diagnostics and repair are needed.
Windshield Wipers: The windshield wipers are currently non-operational.
Horn: The horn is weak and unreliable, requiring attention.
Speedometer: The speedometer is functional but reads approximately 5 mph slower than the actual speed.
Serviced and Safety Checked: This truck has been serviced and safety-checked. New wheel cylinders and a master cylinder. Replaced. We discovered one videoing letter, taillight, and Park lights are somehow connected and do not function correctly.

Body & Paint:

The body of the truck is remarkably straight and appears to be rust-free.
The turquoise paint is presentable but is not a professional-grade job and shows imperfections.

Interior:

The doors close securely and align well.
The original seat has been replaced with a modern bench seat offering adjustable positioning (up/down, forward/backward).
Heater: The heater is functional and produces heat effectively. It makes some noise upon initial start-up but quiets down quickly.

Driving Experience:

The truck has been driven approximately 20-25 miles allowing for basic functionality testing.

Overall:

This 1951 GMC pickup is a solid project vehicle with a lot to offer. The desirable 5-window cab, the relatively straight and rust-free body, the newly installed wood bed, and the desirable Compound Low transmission make it a worthwhile restoration project. While the engine requires attention, the truck runs and drives, making it easier to move and work on. Remember, we are selling this as a project needing work to be reliable and roadworthy.

If you would like to make the drive to Burlington to see this vehicle I think youd really enjoy seeing Dragers Clubhouse firsthand We have a lot of interesting things on display besides cars and trucks. We have 25 display cases full of all sorts of amazing things. We have 100 motorcycles on display. Most people tell us we are like a museum.
