Classic Car Overview
Step back in time with this original, unrestored 1950 Ford Custom Sedan, finished in a classic green that evokes the nostalgia of simpler days like when families would cruise through Yellowstone feeding bears from the car window (not that we recommend that now!).
Believed to have only 44,000 original miles, this car has been in my family for over 20 years. While I've cherished owning it, life with young kids and downtown traffic just doesn't allow me to enjoy the car as it deserves. Sadly, it's time for someone else to continue its legacy.
Vehicle Highlights:
Unrestored and Very Original: Ford flat head v8(the one that started it all!), retains it's original 6-volt electrical system, functioning interior lights (via door switches), and an authentic period-correct vibe.
Engine and Driveability: The flathead V8 starts easily and runs well. The car features a 3-speed manual transmission with an overdrive that works perfectly. The choke and carburetor perform flawlessly, making it a reliable classic for someone ready to cruise.
Aftermarket Features: Includes a vintage-style visor, faux spotlight, aftermarket air cleaner (original included in the trunk), and Smithy exhaust (mufflers have holes see pictures).
Interior Comfort: Original heater works as it should. I added seat belts hoping the kids would ride along, but they've been hesitant to embrace its vintage charm.
Condition Notes:
Mechanics: The car has some oil leaks, particularly at the rear main seal, likely the original rope seal. The transmission is grease-covered, but the rear end is dry (see photos).
Cosmetic Details: While unrestored, the car presents as a solid survivor. paint is a single stage - it appears to me that the car has had some body work but never a full repaint (around the gas door appears to have been blended).
Radio: Original and temperamental - works occasionally but is not reliable.
This is a well-preserved piece of history that deserves to be enjoyed on the open road. While I've dreamed of sharing this car with my family, it's simply not practical for our current lifestyle. I'll miss it dearly, but I hope it finds a new owner who will appreciate and care for it as much as I have.
Car is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming with a clean Wyoming title.
