Classic Car Overview

One of the most influential and versatile vehicles of all time, this Carry-All Suburban has been nicely restored and is ready for a new owner and new adventures. This truck is one of a long line of vehicles that have been in production for over 80 years and have served businesses, like Deere & Company, has done military service, and is a go-to vehicle for first responders. How would you use this truck? Local Drive in fun? Adventure wagon? Equipment hauler for a band? Check it out. See what you think.

It is easy to see that the complete frame off restoration this truck received 5 years ago was a first-class job. Proper preparation and attention to detail produced a paint job that is near perfect and extremely slick and shiny. The Green with Yellow stripe is a great color combination, but if the Deere & Company graphics on the side are not your style, no worries, they are vinyl and should be easy to remove. Up front, the chrome and stainless all shines like new. There is a thin line that runs down the center of the hood through the Chevrolet Bowtie and script. The grill has five horizontal bars with graceful curves to them which are underlined by a simple, clean bumper. There is a split screen windshield and Chevrolet 3100 script appears on the fenders. At the rear, there are huge clamshell doors to access the cargo area that are underlined by another sharp looking bumper. Painted steel wheels with Chevrolet hub caps and white wall tires complete the fantastic look of this truck.

Open those back doors and you are greeted by beautiful wood flooring and a nicely trimmed out cargo area. It has a full headliner and soft panels lining the sides. How might you make use of it? Show it off? Actually use it as a delivery vehicle for your business? It certainly would be an attention getter! Maybe go camping in it? Up front there is a nice Chevy Bowtie plate so you don't have to step on the paint of the running boards, and inside is a stock, classic, 1950 interior. A big three spoke steering wheel with a Chevrolet center has a knob attached to assist in spinning it around. The dash is painted as nicely as the outside and the gauges look sharp with thin chrome piping surrounding them. Chrome extends across the dash to the glove box, and a tall shifter for the manual transmission extends from the floor. Newer style bucket seats are dressed in leather, comfortable, and look natural in there.

Pop the hood and you will find that the attention to detail during the restoration extended to the engine and drivetrain too. A 235 cubic inch "Thrift master" in-line 6-cyliner motor sits in a nicely detailed out engine bay. The valve cover has Chevrolet embossed into it and a small black air cleaner feeds a single barrel carb. There are a couple wires to the starter and distributor and two to a big 'ol air horn. It doesn't get much simpler than this. Power is sent back through a 4-speed manual transmission to a later model rear end that makes this truck nice to drive on todays highways. Up front a solid drop axle sits on leaf springs, and that updated axle in the rear sits on leaf springs also. The rubber meets the road through 215/70/16 white wall tires mounted on steel wheels dressed in trim rings and those awesome hub caps.
