This 1949 Willys Overland Jeepster was acquired by the selling dealer in 2015 and is finished in yellow with a black upper section over black vinyl. A refurbishment has been carried out that included disassembly and refinishes of the frame and body, a refresh or replacement of chrome and stainless steel components, reupholstered seats and door panels, and installation of a new soft top, wiring, and electrical components along with mechanical work. Power is from an overhauled 134ci Go Devil inline-four paired with a three-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. This Jeepster is offered by the selling dealer with a top boot, an owners manual, a parts catalog, First Prizes from the Antique Automobile Club of America and a binder of receipts. he Jeepster was designed by Brooks Stevens as a style-forward bridge between utilitarian Civilian Jeeps and conventional cars. The body on this example was removed from the frame and refinished in yellow with a black upper section. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, steps to access the rear compartment, a split windshield, and a replacement black vinyl top that can be seen both raised and lowered. The selling dealer reports that the brightwork was rechromed, polished, or replaced as needed. A top boot is included in the sale. The steel wheels have been painted to match the body and wear Willys-Overland dog dish hubcaps as well as Coker whitewall tires. A continental kit spare mounted at the rear. The selling dealer notes that stainless steel brake lines were installed during the refurbishment. A two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring fronts a steel dash that is equipped with chrome trim. Centrally-mounted instrumentation consists of an 80-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The 134ci Go Devil inline-four was overhauled as part of the refurbishment and features a single downdraft carburetor fed by a stock air cleaner assembly. New wiring and electrical components have been installed along with stainless steel fuel lines. The engine delivers power to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual gearbox, and the selling dealer notes that the overdrive does not function properly. he frame was repainted in black prior to reassembly, and the components attached are said to have been powder coated in the same color. Additional images in the photo gallery below show the refurbishment in progress. he selling dealer has entered the truck in various Antique Automobile Club of America competitions, and it is reportedly eligible for a Senior Grand National award at the next AACA Grand National.
