Classic Car Overview

1949 Hudson Commodore 8 Brougham Convertible Completely Restored for sale With the Hudson Motor Company being among the few remaining in the late 1940s the introduced their Commodore, a car which was very well received. Their famous "Step Down" design, mounting the floor of the car to the underneath of the chassis instead of the top allowed for a very low center of gravity with excellent interior space. The top of the line Brougham Convertible was a very attractive car with great options available including the straight 8 cylinder, 254 cubic inch engine. Only 595 Commodore Brougham Convertibles would be built for the 1949 model year. This beautiful example has been completely restored in a striking colour called Cornish Cream with a burgundy interior and black convertible top. Having started the restoration with a clean car, the quality of it becomes apparent as you inspect the car. The body and paint have been tastefully restored along with the chrome and aluminum bright work. The leather interior is in excellent condition with all the desirable options present and accounted for including but not limited to power convertible top, power windows, drivers side spot light, Hudson radio and of course the previously mentioned inline 8 cylinder engine with 3 speed transmission. This Hudson Commodore 8 convertible provides and experience and appearance which is very much representative of the era it came from while still being a very unique example of its time as well. The unique design, beautiful stunning and recent restoration make this a great car for the collector or enthusiasts of this special time in automotive history.
