This 1949 Ford F-1 represents the very beginning of Fords postwar F-Series trucks, carrying both family history and classic Americana charm. Ordered new in 1941 but delayed by the war, the truck was finally delivered in 1949 when production resumed. Purchased by the current owners father, it has remained in the same family ever since, making it a true heirloom with more than seven decades of history behind it.
Finished in a rich red exterior, the truck features matching monochrome steel wheels with chrome center caps, paired with black bumpers and running boards for a timeless, factory-correct look. Inside and out, the F-1 presents as close to original as possible thanks to a careful restoration completed in 1998. Since then, it has been maintained with respect for its authenticity and driven sparingly, averaging about one outing per month in recent years.
Under the hood, the original 226 cubic inch flathead inline-six remains in place, paired to a three-speed manual floor shift transmission. The drivetrain has been tuned up recently and continues to run smoothly, offering the same reliable performance it delivered when new. With its originality, long-term family ownership, and faithful restoration, this F-1 is a remarkable piece of Ford history ready to be enjoyed, preserved, and passed down to the next generation.
