1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster

The Stylemaster was produced by Chevrolet from 1946 through 1948. It wasessentially an updated 1942 Master Deluxe. The main distinguishing differenceof the 1948 model is that the radiator grill featured a vertical center bar.This particular example was converted to sweet Street Rod about 10 years agoand no expense was spared. The body is laser straight and is 100% metal.Additionally the hood has been louvered, the gas door was frenched in and thedoor handles were shaved. It is adorned with a gorgeous metallic maroonbasecoat that has metallic red flames with blue pinstripes. The chrome was alsoall redone and it looks awesome sitting on its Billet Specialties chrome 15”rims with spinners. The heart of this sweet rod is a performance built 454 thatwas bored .030 over just before being installed in this car so technically itis now a 460. It was built with a streetable cam that has a great lope to it.It is fed via a Holley 850cfm Double Pumper, it is sparked by a MSD 6A ignitionand it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its ceramic coated headers anddual performance exhaust. The engine bay sparkles with its chrome starter,chrome a/c compressor, billet pulleys and the valve covers. Intake and aircleaner have been painted with the same color metallic red that was used forthe flames. It has power steering, power disc brakes up front and a coil oversuspension. Power is put to the Ford 9” posi rear end with a freeway friendly3:25 gear ratio via a performance built T400 transmission. The interior is agorgeous tan leather with full power seats from a much newer vehicle. It has anIdidit chrome steering column with tilt, a gorgeous chrome LeCarra steeringwheel and all of the other interior chrome was replated when the car was built.It has a complete set of Vintage Reproduction gauges for the voltage, oilpressure, water temp, fuel level as well as a speedometer with an odometer. Italso an Auto Meter tach mounted in the custom center console. You will alsoappreciate the power door poppers, power windows and it has a custom BT stereowith a monitor for a rear view camera mounted in the custom overhead console.The stereo is powered by a 1000 watt 4 channel amp with 6.5” speakers up frontand 6X9’s in the rear.
