Fordand GM pickups of the time were visually utilitarian but by contrast, Hudson'scab pickup looked decidedly custom with flowing front fenders with chrome trimand a well-appointed cabin with automobile-style comfort and refinement, complete with Hudson's feature 30-hour clock. However, it was also a toughworkhorse with heavy-duty suspension and a superstructure supported by theover-engineered frame rails and cross members that underpinned its automobiles. But the Hudson cost more than its utilitarian rivals, and 1947 broughtproduction to an end. The ownerspent years tracking down this final-year Super Six and a comprehensiverestoration began with the goal being to preserve the original essence enhancedby sensitive customization. As you cansee, he achieved his goal with eye catching 2-inch lowering, filled seams, oakbed and trim, new shoes, and just enough metal flake in the Firethorn Red Pearlpaint to accentuate the curves.
