1947 Ford Pickup $39,995

Blue · 8 Cylinder · 42,895 miles

1947 Mercury Half Ton Pickup, very rare truck in beautiful condition. Due to the much smaller Canadian market, Ford of Canada only sold approximately one tenth as many trucks as Ford did in the US during 1947 and around two thirds of those were Ford's leaving the remaining third to be Mercury's. So only 3,809 Mercury trucks were produced in 1947 from Half Ton to Three Ton and due to Canada's harsh climate only a handful remain today. So it is really quite a unique opportunity to find 1947 Mercury Half Ton Pickup. This truck is being listed on Ebay tonight (07/30/17) for a 7 day No Reserve Auction with a $1,000 starting bid. If you would like to join in with the auction and potentially purchase the truck cheaper than our asking price please follow this link -

This truck was restored several years ago by the long term owner. Since restoration it hasn't seen much use covering about 1,500 miles since completed. The truck has only covered 42,895 miles since new so it was an excellent basis for a restoration.

The unique Mercury waterfall chrome grille and emblems are in great condition. It starts, runs and drives as good as new with no leaks. The motor is the original numbers matching Flathead V8 mated to the original 3 speed manual transmission and they have about 1,500 miles on them since the rebuild. The only non factory items on this truck are a Ford 9 inch rear end and aluminum radiator. Otherwise it is completely stock. I have the original radiator which will come with the truck if required by the new owner. There was no rust repairs required on this truck when restored due to it being a very low mileage well cared for example throughout its life seeing little work and no winter use. The floorboards and other rust prone areas are in perfect rust free condition. There is no rust anywhere on this truck. It presents very well.

The interior is in great condition, i'm impressed by the condition of the original instrument cluster and how smoothly all of the gauges operate. The original seat has been re-upholstered to a very high standard. The rubber floor mat is like new as is the vinyl covered hardboard interior trim pieces used on the kick panels and around the rear of the cab. The original steering wheel is in remarkable condition with none of the usual cracks. The unique Mercury center dash piece and horn button are also in nice condition. The vacuum wipers work as they did when new and anyone with any experience of these will know that they're not the most practical set up but I doubt that whoever buys this truck will be taking it out in the rain.

Other points to mention are the original Mercury hub caps which are impossible to replace are all present and in very nice condition. And I also have a very nice chrome rear bumper to go with the truck if the new owner should want it. Although when new these trucks often had no rear bumper. The hood, doors and tailgate all open and close very smoothly with great fit. The windows roll up and down very smoothly like they would have when new. All weatherstripping is good and looks to have been replaced during the restoration.

Overall this is a beautiful example of one of the rarest half ton classic trucks. It is incredibly original and I would feel confident driving it anywhere. It would be a great addition to any collection or perfect for taking to shows. You certainly won't encounter another one like this and it will likely lead to many enjoyable conversations with other enthusiasts.

Payments -

Payments can be made one of two ways:

1. By cash on collection, if collecting in person within 7 days of the invoice date

2. By Wire Transfer

Paperwork accompanying vehicle -

All of our vehicles come with four pieces of paperwork required by the DMV to Title your new vehicle in your home State:

1. An invoice, including vehicle description, VIN #, your details and our details

2. A Canadian Title Document

3. Completed & Stamped US Customs Paperwork Form 7501

Border Crossings -

All of our vehicles are sourced from Canada. We then store them just north of the border until they are sold. Once sold we take the vehicles across the border to our premises in North Dakota for you to collect, or for your preferred shipper to collect for you.

The process of moving the vehicle across the border to North Dakota is taken care of by us and fully paid for by us. You will incur absolutely no further charges above and beyond what you bid for the vehicle.

There is certain border paperwork that is necessary for this process and for that we use a professional customs broker by the name of Cole International USA Inc. They operate with complete confidentiality and any of your personal information, that we supply them with for this process, is treated as such.

Shipping -

Should you wish to have your new (old) vehicle shipped, then let us know and we can put you in contact with our preferred shippers. These shippers are familiar with us, our inventory and our location. They are also very reasonably priced.

If you decide to use an alternative shipper, please make them aware if the vehicle is a 'non-runner' and, therefore, will require a winch for loading and unloading. We are not responsible if you book a shipper who is incapable of loading the vehicle.

Due to the nature of what we do, we are often on the road in search of new vehicles, so please be sure to make us aware of your shipping/collection arrangements ahead of time, so that we can arrange to be there to meet you or your shipper.

Obtaining your US Title -

In order to obtain a US Title for your vehicle all that you will need to do is take the four pieces of paperwork, listed above, to your local DMV office. The DMV are familiar with this process and it will come at no additional cost to you. The process is very straightforward and stress free when dealing with domestic vehicles over 25 years old.

Who we are and what we do -

We are two brothers that seek out original trucks and cars from all across Canada specializing in vehicles from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

We started heading North to source these vehicles several years ago due to the severe lack of such vehicles in the US in recent times due to our huge car culture. Most American barn finds have long been found and tampered with by several owners yet North of the border there still seems to be an abundance of good solid original vehicles waiting to be brought back to life.

We make these great vehicles available to the US market by importing them into the US and providing all required paperwork to acquire a Clear US Title in your own name in your home State.

We also specialize in sourcing Mercury and Fargo trucks and have successfully imported and found new homes for dozens of fine original examples.

We are passionate about finding the best that there is and understand that our customers want to see automobiles that have not been tampered with; the more original, the better.

Our inventory is regularly updated, as new finds are unearthed. If there is something specific that you are looking for, then let us know and we'd be happy to see if we can help.

The business we conduct is straightforward and honest. Whether you're looking for something that's all original, a starting point for a restoration project or solid bones for a custom build, Bison Brothers will deliver.
