GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this elegant 1947 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible for your consideration. Finished in Vincennes Red over a matching Red interior, this post-war luxury cruiser is powered by its original 346 cubic inch L-head V8 engine paired with a Hydra-Matic 2-speed automatic transmission. This example received a restoration approximately 16 years ago and still retains its original interior, showcasing the craftsmanship of its time. It has been thoughtfully upgraded from a 6-volt to an 8-volt battery system for more reliable starting, and it rides on new Diamondback radial tires. With a commanding 129-inch wheelbase, this Cadillac features optional chrome backup lights, crank windows, a power-operated convertible top, a full-size spare tire, and spacious trunk storage. Only 6,755 Series 62 Convertibles were produced in 1947, making this a rare and desirable classic. Recent maintenance completed in 2025 includes a new gearbox, fresh driveshaft rebuild, new idler arm and bracket, new transmission mount, and a full service inspection with receipts totaling $5,906. The car is also equipped with beautifully chrome bumpers both front and rear. Drive this one out of our showroom or have us assist with shipping it to you anywhere in the United States! Dont hesitate to call us with any questions or for more information.
The 1947 Cadillac Series 62 represented the epitome of American luxury in the immediate post-war era. As automotive production resumed following World War II, Cadillac resumed its commitment to innovation, quality, and design. The Series 62 featured streamlined styling, ample chrome trim, and Cadillacs robust 346 cubic inch L-head V8 engine. It also marked one of the first full production years to feature the Hydra-Matic automatic transmission an innovation that brought ease of use to luxury motoring. Convertible models like this one offered open-air elegance and were among the most expensive and exclusive vehicles of the time.
