From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview
1947 Cadillac Series 62 $26,000
Note: There seems to be a problem with Auto Trader regarding the Year/Model. I have been told that this car is a Model 61, but Auto Trader won't allow me to enter a year of 1947 with a Model 61, so I have entered it as a Model 61 instead.
This car must be sold as part of an estate sale.
The car was in progress of a major refurbish when the project halted due to poor health. The work that has been done includes a total body removal for paint. All the rubber door and window seals were removed and replaced with new. All the chrome had been re-done.
The engine has been replaced - I believe it is a 1970 (or there about) Cadillac engine - V8, four barrel carburetor. Automatic transmission, similar vintage.
Power steering, power brakes. My understanding is that the power brakes are also an "after market" installation.
The car runs, but not well. The car has not been driven for 10 years. Prior to that the car ran well. The engine starts easily and will idle fine, but stumbles and sputters a bit when trying to accelerate. The transmission shifts well. It can be driven around the block but I would recommend a trailer for getting it home when purchased.
The interior needs some work. The headliner is hanging down in spots where it didn't get tucked into the window rubber seals when the windows were replaced. It is possible that the headliner could be made good by simply getting the fabric tucked back in, but a new headliner had been on the the "to do" list for the project prior to the project getting stalled.
I have been told that this is a Model 61, but I am not familiar with the various different models so I can't testify to that. IT is a two door, "fast back" style.
The car is located in Apple Valley, Ca. I am located 400 miles north, but there are other family members at the house where the car is located that can show the car with reasonable notice.
If you are interested in the car please consider making an offer. This car MUST be sold in the next couple of months so I would entertain any reasonable offer, especially towards the end of September . . .
