Classic Car Overview

1946 Packard Super Clipper 8 Limousine. A largely original car with an earlier frame-off restoration, black paint with patina, and chrome that presents very well throughout. Includes a binder documenting the previous owner's restoration, with records and invoices. VIN: F507691B.
The formal limousine interior has a black leather front bench, Art Deco door panels, woodgrain-style trim, and a cream steering wheel, with a roll-up glass partition separating the chauffeur compartment. The rear features tan broadcloth, a bench with cream piping, fold-down jump seats, armrests, a footrest, and a well-preserved cream headliner.
Powered by Packard's 356 cubic-inch inline eight with a 3-speed manual with overdrive and a 3.92 rear axle. The engine bay presents well, and the car was previously described as running smoothly. The undercarriage shows light surface rust and paint chipping, with a newer-looking exhaust.
Known issues: no key, no radio, non-working clock, peeled paint on the hood, a scratch through the paint on the driver-side windshield pillar (A-pillar), and cracked glass on the driver-side rear door and passenger-side rear window. See photos.
A striking example of postwar American luxury for a collection, display, or continued restoration.
