Classic Car Overview

Here we have one of the most iconic vehicles of World War II, the Willys MB Jeep. Found in a barn in a small northern Wisconsin town, this jeep has been documented to the same owner for over 50 years. With the title dating the vehicle to 1943, the Jeep has an original inline four-cylinder engine with the correct Willys head. A new starter and reproduction carburetor have been installed and the engine does run. The brakes do need further inspection and remain as-is from the day the vehicle was found. The frame appears to be solid; however, the previous owner welded a post war military front bumper on to the vehicle. A frame tag is still present, with number MB20004, which dates the frame to early 1942. The tub of the Jeep does need a little TLC, showing visible rust throughout the tub and holes in the floor. Both rear storage compartments lids are present and open. All (drivers, passenger and bench) seats and cushions are present. It does have the correct combat rims, with older Goodyear, ND tires. The windshield is complete with no cracks, and the canvas top is pliable and shows no holes. It does retain the original 3 speed, T84 transmission and the gears cycle smoothly. The Jeep does sport an aftermarket exhaust. There are a few extra accessories such as a cab heater, a keyed ignition, and canvass doors/side curtains. Overall, this is a classic barn find Jeep that was maintained by the owner to the best of his abilities at that time (when parts were not so accessible), and then forgotten about after his passing. Though it does need some extra love, World War II Jeeps, especially early war (1943), are becoming a scarce commodity. This is perfect for someone that is looking for a restoration and long-term piece of history. See photos for further condition.
