By our estimation, this incredible WW2 jeep is likely one of the finest military vehicles ever offered for sale in North America, if not the world, and we dont say this without due cause. Keep this in mind, this outstanding 1943 Ford GPW is a NUMBERS MATCHING jeep! After more than eighty years, this is nothing short of staggering, but no less true for that: The jeeps indelibly stamped serial numbers, both on the engine block and the chassis frame, are precisely the same. The engines cylinder head also looks original. Certainly it is the correct (inter-war years) casting; most definitely not the later post-war design with the additional cast ribbing. Given the numbers matching status of this jeep, we see no reason to doubt that this is also the original cylinder head as fitted by Fords engine mechanics backin 1943.
