Classic Car Overview

Do you want super rare? Do you like constant attention about your car? Taken from Cord dies, only 1500 Hollywoods built in 1940-1. Only half of those were supercharged. I purchased this from the renowned, Frank Kleptz, collection through Hyman Ltd. Let's start with CAVEAT EMPTOR - The car sat in the Kleptz museum for 20+ years. After extensive work just to get on the road, I am rewarded with an engine knock. I assume a Rod Bearing. Know how to do a bottom end job on a flathead 6? The transmission likes to jump out of 2nd gear on a downhill coast...I have two Hollywoods and they both do this I assume it's a linkage adjustment because it drives fine otherwise. The paint job is actually weak in spots in spite of how good it looks overall. I wouldn't change it. As I said, I own two Hollywoods. For these reasons, I am cutting my losses on this one after spending over $10K documented plus my $30K purchase price from Hyman. This includes rebuilding the fuel tank and sender, new fuel pump, Carb. Rebuilt. Radiator rebuilt, Clutch and brakes rebuilt, including all wheels and the master cylinder. Again, with receipts for all this very recent 2022 work. So, bottom line, I am wiling to lose $15K. Otherwise, Yes, I will eventually rebuild the engine and ask $40k.
The previous listing from which I bought the car.
