Classic Car Overview

1941 Ford 11C 1/2 Ton Pickup For consignment, a 1941 Ford 1/2 ton pickup truck with a title verified 86,463 actual miles. A garage queen that was the recipient of a chassis off restoration about eight years ago that is still looking great today! Exterior Just before you notice the stunning black paint on this truck, you notice its character. Vintage trucks have a face and a stance that is entirely classic and ultimately Americana on wheels. It starts with the pointed nose on this truck, appearing even more pointed thanks to the black grille beside the chrome trim that rides up on to the hood like an architectural element used on buildings of the same era. Two spears emit from the center to trim the bottom of the hood while artfully crafted light rings add depth and shine. The wide fenders sweep back as if shaped by the wind while the roofline bows slightly to it. Rear bumpers would only get in the way of work in 41, so none exists behind the solid black tailgate which has what Ford called truss type rolled edges for strength. 16-inch black wheels carry white wall tires and the spare on the running board echoes the design. The redone wood bed is pristine and one chip in the paint of the truck is the only imperfection we find. Interior Satin black covers the steel of the inner doors that open to reveal a gray vinyl bench seat showing some patina but fully intact. A black steering wheel leads to a simple gauge cluster with a deco style metal frame and gray faced gauges that are a testament to the trucks vintage and remain unrestored. Ivory knobs contrast with the black dash in the center and a tall shifter rises from the floor which is covered with a rubber mat. The vinyl headliner and single visor are in excellent shape and the simple and tidy interior is exemplary of an era when features were few for working trucks. Drivetrain Under the hood, a clean and original appearing 119.7ci 4 cylinder engine rated at 30 horsepower and fueled by a 1-barrel carburetor. A 3-speed manual drives power to the rear wheels and 4.11 gears while drum brakes are found front and rear. Undercarriage Clean underneath with only a film of residual oil on the pan and surface rust reserved for the exhaust, a single pipe system that meets a stock style muffler before exiting under the truck. For suspension, the truck is equipped with a transverse leaf spring and wishbone suspension up front with a transverse leaf spring out back. Drive-Ability With some help from our in house antique aficionado, we get the truck started and take a ride around the test loop where this vintage truck performed without issue, tracking straight, shifting well, and allowing for plenty of side and forward visibility, while the rear retains its small window, a holdover from some carriage designs. All functions, limited as they are, work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. A stunning representation of pre war America with paint that is better than new . A well sorted, original truck that needs nothing to make a statement at the next car show, or in your garage. It has yet to make a public debut in a car show situation, and would likely be enjoyed by the masses. But thats entirely up to you! If youre in the market for a classic pickup, pick up the phone and get in on this one!
