This 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe Convertible Sedan is a roomy, luxurious, and well-optioned automobile, and it is deemed a full classic by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA). Cadillacs Series 62 debuted in 1940 and featured a torpedo-like body that was considered more aerodynamic than its predecessors. In 1941, Cadillac redesigned its front end stylings across all models calling the new look an impressively powerful front ensemble. The hoods came down lower and featured louvered trim on the sides. The grilles in 1941 were wider, taller, and bulged in the middle furthering the new look of the 41 Cadillacs. Cadillac also consolidated its engine offerings in 1941 down to a single engine, the 346 L-Head V8 which was highly successful up until that point. 1941 was also the final year for the 4-door Convertible Sedan for Cadillac, the true end of an era! Under the hood on this 41 Series 62 is a 346 Cubic Inch L-Head V8 engine paired with a single 2 barrel carburetor that pushed out 150 horsepower in its day and has a nice quiet purr while idling. Anybody can easily drive this classic Cadillac convertible because the 346 V8 is hooked up to a Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission that cost an additional $125 back in 1941. The white vinyl convertible top is in fantastic shape and provides a nice complement to the exterior look of the car. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of the car, including the Winged Goddess hood ornament, are in wonderful condition as well. The front end features the optional fog lamps with amber lenses that cost the original owner $14.50 when the car was ordered new. This 41 Cadillac Convertible Sedan sits on 4 wide whitewall bias-ply tires with the higher end full Wheel Discs which give this luxury classic car an elevated look, and the rear tires are tucked behind Wheel Shields as they were known by Cadillac in 1941 (otherwise known fender skirts). The classy Cadillac interior on this car is mesmerizing! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in a beautiful pleated red leather that gives the car a truly elegant look. The dash, door panels and deluxe steering wheel all appear to be in their stock configuration. Stock instrumentation includes a 100 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, battery gauge, fuel gauge, and oil pressure gauge. The dash is equipped with a push-button AM radio as well as a clock, along with defroster and heat controls tucked neatly underneath. A compass, Day/Night rear view mirror, and Fulton traffic light finder complete the interior options on this classic Cadillac. Whether youre looking for your very first classic car or your garage is full of classic Cadillacs or true CCCA classics, this 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe Convertible Sedan would make an excellent choice.
