Classic Car Overview
1940 FORD DELUXE WAGON WOODIE VIN 99A238094 ODO 614 SINCE RESTORATION GARNET MAROON EXTERIOR W/HONEY BLONDE MAPLE BROWN 3 SEAT LEATHERETTE/VINYL INTERIOR BLACK TOP BY NICK ALEXANDER 221 CID FLATHEAD V-8 85HP 3 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION W/COLUMN MOUNTED SHIFTER AM RADIO HEATER BUMPER GUARDS SPARE TIRE COVER WSW TIRES TRIM RINGS The best 1940 Ford Woodie or at the very least, the best my partner and I have ever encountered. With a combined 90 years of Hershey and car shows weve encountered a lot of Woodies, none like this one. EXTERIOR: Professionally restored in the last decade with wood craftmanship by Heidens Woodworking in Cardiff California and the top by Nick Alexander Restoration in Huntington Park California. The Heiden workmanship is outstanding! The wood joints appear flawless with tight fits and no discoloration. The gaps are outstanding, better than factory built. The padded leatherette roof by Nick Alexander Restorations is flawless and correct. The refinish shows excellent prep work and paint application to the steel body work. The only thing needed to make the engine bay concours is to swap out the modern battery. Check out the gleaming undercarriage in our photos. INTERIOR: The brown leatherette interior appears factory fresh with the factory radio peering out of that classic art deco dash. DRIVEABILITY: Without a doubt the quietest Woodie weve ever driven, a testiment to the quality of the restoration. The engine is extremely quiet, the transmission shifts smoothly, the clutch is perfect. CONCLUSION: Driven only 600 miles siince its professional body off restoration. This Woodie looks and drives better than new. The car hasnt been shown or judged. The 40 Woodie is regarded as the pinnacle of Woodie design and this, in our opinion, is the pinnacle of 40 Woodies. The very best at a very reasonable price $125,000 The new owner will be full of pride for their new 1940 Deluxe Woodie. OLD FORGE Motorcars 1101 N.
