This 1939 Ford Deluxe convertible sedan was disassembled, refurbished, and modified by a previous owner. It has a small-block Chevrolet V8 topped by an Edelbrock carburetor and linked to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. The car rides on a Mustang II-style independent front end with rack-and-pinion steering and disc brakes, and the interior was redone with Vintage Air climate control, a Gennie shifter, a tilt column, a banjo-style wheel, Auto Meter gauges, a Blaupunkt radio, power windows, and brown upholstery. The current owner purchased the car in 2023.
This 39 Convertible Sedan is now offered by the seller with a car cover and a clean California title. The steel and fiberglass convertible sedan bodywork is finished in Burgundy, and the black soft top was replaced. Hunley Acuff vulcanized running boards were used.
The car rides on a Mustang II-style independent front end with disc brakes and rack-and-pinion steering, and the body-color steel wheels wear whitewalls. Brown Mercedes-Benz MB Tex upholstery was used, and the car was fitted with a Blaupunk radio under the seat along with power windows, a Gennie floor shifter, and Vintage Air climate control with controls hidden in the glovebox.
A tilt column and banjo-style steering wheel were used, and the dashboard was repainted with a simulanted woodgrain effect. Auto Meter gauges were also used. The owner has added 200 of the 15k miles indicated.
The small-block Chevrolet V8 is topped by an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and carburetor. The rams horn manifolds have been coated, and a Brassworks radiator was used along with valve covers from Speedway Motors. The engine is linked to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission.
