2010 Cobra Jet

Following in the tradition of previous Ford factory built Mustang race cars like the 1968 Cobra Jet, the Boss 429 and the FR500S Mustang Challenge car, Ford Racing and AAI started work on a production run of 50 Cobra Jet Mustangs in January 2010. Ford Racing built 50 Cobra Jet Mustangs at Ford vendor facilities.

Lights! Cameras! Cars!

One thing that the crew at Volo Auto Museum understands is that context is everything. They have gone the extra mile to display each movie car with memorabilia and signage that brings the scene to life. The museum features actual movie props such as Tom Cruise's racing seat from Days Of Thunder.

Classic Car Overview

This rod is a very nice daily driver. Its been driven less than 1,000 miles since street rodded in 2013. I've only driven it locally several times each summer. The body is all steel with no rust. The only wood are the running boards, the drivers dash panel and interior of the glove box; the dash panel and running boards could easily be replaced/upgraded if desired. The ride and seats are very comfortable, and the car is easy to drive by anyone. It has a mild 350 Chevy engine (1975) with less than 70,000 miles on it. The transmission is a TH350 automatic. Power brakes are discs in front and drums in back. The beautiful Cayman Green Metallic paint job gets many compliments; it looks blue or green from different angles and lighting. There are no problems. The only minor irritant is the squeaky belt when cold started, but it doesn't last long.
