Classic Cars: Know Where to Look for Rust Before Buying

If you're thinking about buying a classic car, you should know where to look for rust and how extensive the repair might be.

Classic Car Overview

Plymouth P6-14 4-door flathead 6 sedan with rear suicide doors
manufactured in the Detroit plant 1938. This is a regular, reliable, fun, weekend
driver that has been shown in South Carolina and Georgia vintage car shows
since restoration. 3-speed floor stick shift. Engine number P6-14702. Serial
number 10554021 (VINs were not issued until 1954). Aside from the restoration,
the drivability is improved by some modern upgrades which include: the addition
of a full-time electric cooling fan that assists the original, 12-volt
conversion with an alternator, revised oil-cooler setup (see photo), turn
signals, modern headlamps, and a heater. The Professional installed Tan interior seating, carpets,
door panels, headliner, and wood accents to complete the restoration. The
exterior color is metallic blue. Comes with the original owner keys-set,
Plymouth factory key fob, and a photo album of the P6 prior to work, during
restoration, and later at car shows; also, we have the State of Virginia issued
Title that identifies the second, third, and 4th owners. There is a Chrysler Corp.
Plymouth 214-page Service manual and a copy of the 1938 advertisement
by Plymouth announcing the P6. The Car comes with a photo album depicting the find, and restoration process. Clean South Carolina Title. The vehicle is located
Columbia, SC. Asking for $13,450.00 OBO.

Cash or Credit Card. Local pickup. Asking for $13,450.00
