Classic Car Overview

This is an all original uncut steel 1938 Buick Opera Coupe Model 42SC, a classic pro touring sports coupe! Complete frame off restoration done 12 yrs ago. The chassis was hand built from the cab forward it is 1" plate steel mig welded honey combed and boxed in. The center of the frame is original 38 iron and back 1/2 is also mig welded plate steel.Pro Street 4 linked and track barred suspension has 6" of ground clearance. The suspension is ride tech custom built adjustable coil overs, hand built inner wheel wells to protect fenders and skid bar and plate protecting oil pan. 18 gallon fuel tank.Total weight 3290 lbs and is within 5 lbs on all 4 corners. Has a Lincoln custom power rack and pinion steering system, front custom anti sway bar, stainless steel steering linkage, exhaust is ran through the frame and is stainless steel Magna Flow. Rear end is Ford 9" True Track Posi with an aluminum Nazzer nose cone, 370:1 gear ratio, 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes drilled and slotted, 6 piston on front 4 on back, custom drive line, sitting on Michelin Sports Pilot 2 225/14/R17 and Chip Foose 17 in billeted aluminum wheels on the front and Michelin Sports Pilot 2 255/45/R18 and Chip Foose 18 in billeted aluminum wheels. Original front bumper removed and Frenched in but we do still have it in excellent condition and original rear bumper in on the car, stainless steel. Front grill inserts have been rechromed and we have an extra set of inserts that are painted to match the car. Has a Walker 4 row radiator, original specs. Internal transmission cooler, Hurricane fan and shroud for engine cooling. Motor is a balanced and blue printed 383 stroker V8, Comp racing cam, RJC racing cylinders, AFR aluminum heads, painted block, Edelbrock polished water pump, Edelbrock high performance aluminum intake manifold, Quickfuel technology 780 cfm carburetor, custom motor mounts, chrome polished billet breathers, polished alternator, polished power steering reservoir, stainless steel steering linkage, MSD ignition system, mini torque starter, stainless steel lines, smoothed and filled firewall, firewall mounted polished dual brake booster, 700R4 transmission build with all hardened parts and Nascar clutches, 2400 -2600 stall speed converter. Motor, trans and torque converter all have less than 1k miles on rebuild, other portion of restoration has 26453. Original headlights were sent to be resilvered and now have halogen headlights. All light trim, body trim, door handles and trim rings are original and stainless steel. Wind wings have been deleted and replaced with custom one piece sliding electric windows. All windows are tempered and bronzed. Polished side mirrors. Custom O2 free wiring system, custom wood faux painted dash and trim, custom fabricated billeted aluminum A/C vents designed to slide into ashtray slots, still have original ashtrays. Vintage air conditioning control panel. Classic instrument panel cluster with vintage instruments and custom insert to fit original slot. Dash has not been cut or altered from original, original clock. Flaming River polished tilt steering column and steering wheel. Polished billet knobs and controls. Newport wiper system and blades. Glide reclining front seat with armrest, interior is soft touch ultra leather in Mocha. Opera seats in back, custom multi speaker system with amplifier and charging port, custom headliner and sunvisors, custom upholstered doors and side kick panels, marine quality carpet, extensive sound insulation, power locks and alarm. Paint is beautiful but does have visible rock chips up close and one blister on the roof from rocks, body is dent and rust free! Very little filler used on this car, it is in excellent shape. Original style wood running boards Trunk has been reupholstered and locks. This vehicle feels and handles like a 2012 Corvette putting out around 500 hp and runs up to about 110 mph before kicking down to 4th gear! This could be a fun auto cross car runs and handles like a dream!
