Lights! Cameras! Cars!

One thing that the crew at Volo Auto Museum understands is that context is everything. They have gone the extra mile to display each movie car with memorabilia and signage that brings the scene to life. The museum features actual movie props such as Tom Cruise's racing seat from Days Of Thunder.

Classic Car Overview

The 1937 Chevrolet truck introduced a more stylish, Art Deco-influenced design and an all-steel cab, making it a pivotal vehicle in the move toward more comfortable and modern pickups. This particular example was converted into a high-end street rod with state-of-the-art amenities. The heart of this sweet truck is a 500ci V8 Cadillac engine and T400 tranny from a 1976 El Dorado. The engine was bored out to 505ci and both it and the tranny were completely rebuilt before being stuffed in this sweet truck. It has a custom 2 X 4 boxed tube chassis fit with a 4-wheel disc brakes, front and rear independent suspension and a rear end all from a 1977 Jaguar. The cab, floor pan and doors were all extended 6 ½ giving you a little extra stretch. You will also appreciate the sunroof, the suicide doors with shaved door handles, electronic and manual door poppers, custom fenders, custom running boards and custom fender mounted headlight buckets, a rolled rear pan as well as the blinkers frenched into the custom mirrors the frenched in 3rd brake light and frenched in gas cap. The engine is fit with top-of-the-line performance goodies that are all chrome or polished. It is fed via an Edelbrock performance carb with electric choke and a Performer intake. Spark is handled by a Mallory Hi-Fire ignition, it has a set of 2 ½ Sanderson ceramic coated headers and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its Thrush performance exhaust. It has full custom leather interior with Auto Meter gauges, a custom center console that houses a Kenwood BT stereo and speakers as well a variety of controls including the Vintage Air HVAC controls. You will also appreciate IDIDIT chrome tilt steering column with power steering and push-to-start ignition. Both the hood and custom tonneau cover have power actuators that you can raise or lower from inside the cab. The exterior is a two-tone Tangerine and Vanilla Shake with custom pinstriping, and tinted windows. The portrait of Holly on the tail gate as well as the names on the doors are on top of the clear coat so that they can be removed without painting. The appearance is all pulled together by a sweet set of American Racing polished rims wrapped in a set of BF Goodrich Radial TAs. The bad news is that both of the doors were over extended enabling the back side of the doors to slightly crease the cab corners. There is not paint damage on the passenger sider but there is some minor paint damage on the driver side. We were planning to have this all fixed and list the truck for $49,900. Instead, we have decided to reduce the price by $15,000.00 and sell it as-is. Almost $100K has been invested in this truck and it has been driven just over 1,000 miles representing a chance for someone to get one heck of a deal!
