Following in the tradition of previous Ford factory built Mustang race cars like the 1968 Cobra Jet, the Boss 429 and the FR500S Mustang Challenge car, Ford Racing and AAI started work on a production run of 50 Cobra Jet Mustangs in January 2010. Ford Racing built 50 Cobra Jet Mustangs at Ford vendor facilities.
One thing that the crew at Volo Auto Museum understands is that context is everything. They have gone the extra mile to display each movie car with memorabilia and signage that brings the scene to life. The museum features actual movie props such as Tom Cruise's racing seat from Days Of Thunder.

Classic Car Overview
In storage for over 18 years. My Dad, owner of an Auto parts store, had
this custom assembly started in 1989. Before getting ill, he only drove
500 miles. Hand rubbed lacquer Merlot Jewel red, beige leather interior
with a beige convertible roof with chrome bows. AC/PS/PB Total Cost
Involved Engineering Lowered frame, 2023 ft end Delrin bushings,
Mustang II power rack & pinion, chrome tubular upper & lower control
arms, Chrome sway bar & stabilizer bar, coil over chrome shocks with 4-
way power disc brakes. The interior was designed by a Ford Motor Co.
engineer. Here is an additional list of the drivetrain: All Ford parts: 1997
HO Ford Racing engine with GT-40 heads, 4-speed C-4 auto
transmission with a 9 370 Posi-trac rear end. Stainless efi 20 gallon gas
tank, through frame brake lines, and stainless quiet exhaust system.
Ron Francis wiring, with a heavy Fairlaine mfg. 2dr. Roadster 36
fiberglass body. Locar tilt Steering column. 15 BF Goodrich with real
spoke rims. Henry Ford original steel parts: Hood, grill, lights front and
rear, with a NOS locking has lid. This has the outlawed NOS 36 Blue
Jewel brake lights. Multi-color ground & engine bay lights.
Custom audio system: Kenwood DDX9705S, touch screen, Apple Play,
hands-free, Sirius XM, GPS tracking, dual hidden cameras, Euphoria
Sub-woofer EPS 68 compact 500 watt, and a JBL Audio mx500/4
channel compact amplifier all packed under the passengers seat. 4
Harman Kappa speakers: 2-60 scx and 2-86 cfx. Sirius XM 300v-1
satellite tuner. Cal-amp 200 GPS tracker. Designed to drive down I-10
with the top down at 60mph and to hear the stereo as you're sitting
stopped. This has been a blast for me to drive for the past 8 years, time
for me to move on. Most notable award, 2024 Auto Rama 3rd place
winner, Houston Texas.
