Classic Car Overview

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys The Hershey Auction event, 7 - 8 October 2026.
Offered Without Reserve $90,000 - $125,000 USD

  • A beautifully presented Standard Eight Convertible Victoria from Packards acclaimed Twelfth Series
  • Finished in timeless black over a richly trimmed cognac leather interior
  • Powered by a later 1936 Packard 320-cid L-head inline-eight rated at 130 hp
  • Well equipped with dash-adjustable hydraulic shock control, dual Trippe Speedlights, twin side-mounted spares, luggage rack, and iconic cormorant mascot
  • A CCCA Full Classic

For much of Packards distinguished history, the phrase Ask the Man Who Owns One became far more than an advertising slogan it reflected the extraordinary loyalty the company inspired in its clientele. Revered for its engineering excellence, impeccable craftsmanship, and understated elegance, Packard stood among Americas premier luxury automobile manufacturers, a reputation that endures to this day.

The 1935 Twelfth Series represented one of Packards strongest model lineups. The Standard Eight occupied the sweet spot in the range, offering nearly all the refinement and imposing presence of the flagship Super Eight on a slightly shorter wheelbase. Its smooth 320-cubic-inch L-head inline-eight produced 130 horsepower and delivered the quiet, effortless performance that Packard owners expected. The combination proved highly successful, with the Standard Eight outselling the Super Eight by nearly three to one.

Among the most desirable and elegant bodies available on the Standard Eight chassis was the graceful Convertible Victoria, with its long hood, flowing fenders, low folding top, and sporting profile. This handsome example is powered by a 1936 Packard 320-cubic-inch straight-eight of similar specification to the original engine and is finished in a handsome combination of black with a richly upholstered cognac leather interior. It is attractively equipped with Packards innovative dash-adjustable hydraulic shock control system, twin fender-mounted spare wheels with metal covers, dual Trippe Speedlight driving lamps, the famed cormorant radiator mascot, a rear luggage rack, and body-color wire wheels fitted with wide whitewall tires.

Recognized as a CCCA Full Classic, this Packard Convertible Victoria captures the elegance, engineering excellence, and quiet prestige that made Packard Americas premier luxury automobile. Beautifully proportioned, thoughtfully equipped, and presented in a timeless color combination, it offers an outstanding opportunity to enjoy one of the finest open Packards of the mid-1930s.
