Classic Car Overview

1935 Cadillac 355 Imperial Sedan Pre-World War II Cadillacs were well-built, powerful, mass-produced luxury cars aimed at an upper-class market which included highly visible stars from the golden age of Hollywood. As highly regarded competitors to the worlds finest automobiles, they combined custom bodies from GMs in-house Fleetwood Coach Division with some of the worlds most innovative and powerful engines, to create an unmatched sense of style and grandeur. For over 100 years Cadillac has been the standard by which many define the very best. And in the 30s, when the marque was at the top of the luxury car market, custom coaches like this 355 Imperial Sedan rightfully earned their famous Standard of The World tagline. A chauffeur is certainly something to consider, but not necessary. Exterior Cladded in light blue and two tone white, perfectly placed on the correct panels to add the contrast and provide highlights where needed, and darker areas where necessary. Starting upfront atop a gleaming mile high radiator is the Cadillac mascot, a flowing goddess in perfect chromed form. Art Nouveau style fenders, a single panel with just the right rake and curvature, nestles the bullet headlights, fog lamps, and driving lamps. Dual spare tires with their correct metal covers, have the dual rear-view mirrors attached to the top. All wheels are premium wide white sidewall tires that wrap red steel wire wheels and rims. All in beautiful condition. Perfect running boards join the front and rear fenders. Above are the entry doors the front doors being the standard size normal hinged, and the passenger doors are notably wider and hinge suicide style. Moving to the back of this wonderful automobile, a chrome luggage rack is fitted, and flanking on each side are steel enclosed bullet style taillights. Interior Ultra-smooth dark blue leather stretches across the door panels, and front split bench seat. A banjo style steering wheel is backed by a black and chromed metal dash, which houses perfectly aged white gauges. Surrounding the top of the dash is highly figured burl, lacquered so you can see yourself in it. Separated by a gray felted panel with a roll down window, the massive rear passenger compartment has a gray bench that runs from door to door. 2 jump seats are seen folded into the center panel. Door panels for the rear are dark blue felt, all in excellent condition. Plush gray carpeting covers the floor and footrests which are part of the folding jump seats. Matching burl window surrounds and rear arm rest tips finish off the interior. Drivetrain A Flathead V8 with a manual transmission is seen under the hood, and it resides in a very nice engine bay. A late model alternator has been put on by the consigner as an upgrade. Undercarriage As expected, unremarkable, save for no rust anywhere, clean and pristine exhaust system, 4-wheel drum brakes and an intricate X style frame. A large pumpkin and a new gas tank bring up the rear of the underside. The definition of you have arrived this stunning two-tone large automobile will be a head turner, a show stopper, and you can star in your own parade by just driving for groceries. Oh wait, the butler does that!
