1934 Ford Other Ford Models
Following in the tradition of previous Ford factory built Mustang race cars like the 1968 Cobra Jet, the Boss 429 and the FR500S Mustang Challenge car, Ford Racing and AAI started work on a production run of 50 Cobra Jet Mustangs in January 2010. Ford Racing built 50 Cobra Jet Mustangs at Ford vendor facilities.
One thing that the crew at Volo Auto Museum understands is that context is everything. They have gone the extra mile to display each movie car with memorabilia and signage that brings the scene to life. The museum features actual movie props such as Tom Cruise's racing seat from Days Of Thunder.
Classic Car Overview
This gorgeous Roadster has aGibbons Body upgraded with hidden hinges, a recessed firewall, a smooth dash aswell as pre-hung and latched suicide doors. The heart of this Hot Rod is a454ci V8 fitted with aluminum heads and a 671 blower which obviously is puttinga grip of power to those fat BF Goodrich 295/50R16 rear tires. The engine isadorned with a chrome water pump, a chrome serpentine belt system, a chromealternator, chrome valve covers and dual chrome Edelbrock carbs. It is firedvia a MSD electronic ignition and sounds just plain nasty ripping through itsceramic coated Sanderson Street Rod Headers and performance exhaust. It has aperformance built T-400 tranny putting power to its 9” rear end. The attention to detail goes far beyond theengine bay with its chrome adjustable coil over shocks on all 4 corners, 4wheel disc brakes, chrome A-arms up front, a 4 link rear as well as its chromerack and pinion steering. The frame and all of the undercarriage componentshave been chrome plated, painted or powder coated making this Hot Rod as coolto look at from the bottom as it is the top. The interior has a full custom 2tone purple leather upholstery with flames designed to match those on the paintas well as cockpit cover. It has power steering, a Lokar shifter, a completeset of Williams Street Rod gauges and a brand new Alpine sound system with a BTstereo, 6 speakers and an amp that we just installed. The hood is hinged withrecessed latches and the trunk is controlled by a power actuator. It has agorgeous chrome windshield with an awesome metallic purple paint job adornedwith silver flames on the hood, body and firewall. The exterior is topped offwith a billet grill and a set of Weld Racing billet rims that match thesteering wheel and it has a hideaway license plate that you simply just push upor pull down. All said and done over $80,000 was spent on the build of the HotRod which is completely evident after closely inspecting it. It was completed justover 15 years ago and has been driven 12,055 miles since. Everything is workingas it should. They only thing this Hot Rod needs is a new home. We have pricedit aggressively so if you like what you see you best pick up the phone as thisone will not last long!
