Classic Car Overview

1934 Ford Model 40 3 Window Coupe For consignment, a 1934 Ford Model 40 3 window coupe, showing 336 miles which are not actual and housing a 350ci V8 and 4-speed automatic. This fiberglass bodied beauty packs more modern bucket seats and new gauges for your driving pleasure. Exterior Smooth panels where glossy black paint in two stage luster and its chopped and lowered stance makes for one badass presentation. Chrome pops off this car, (visually), and includes the headlight buckets, flowing vertical grille, ribbon-like bumpers, and the fitting and spectacular Cragar Street Star wheels, 14-inch in front and 15-inch in the back with tall walled tires that are staggered just enough to render the ride raked. Peeking out from the running boards, now topped with new rubber, are rectangle exhaust tips that add just the right amount of street rod vibe while smooth, sport style mirrors keep the curves flowing and even house a turn signal, bringing this 90 year old appearing model into the 21st century, along with the third brake light, tinted windows, and clear lens tail lights. A pinstripe design, by the way, adorns the trunk lid. Imperfections include various scuffs and some cracking in the paint. Interior We open the doors suicide style to find column stitched door panels with billet style accessories and an electric window switch and the passengers side cloth is just a bit loose in places and its window switch is also loose. Tall buckets seats include thigh support and seem to be in decent condition and the seat belt receiver is on the outside of each seat. A leather wrapped steering wheel has three steel spokes and leads to a black painted dash with new metal trimmed white faced gauges, while an AM/FM/CD player is found in the center. Vintage Air controls are on the passenger side but reachable for the driver as is the tall Lokar shifter that rises from the floor which is covered cleanly in black carpet. The fleece-like headliner has some dimples but is intact and this material waterfalls onto the walls where it surrounds the pinched rear window. The trunk is wonderfully clean and deep with step-like shelves leading to the bottom level and lit by accent lights on each side. Drivetrain Under the hood, a clean 350ci engine with lots of polished parts and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor under the pancake filter element. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission is mounted behind it sends power to the 10 bolt rear axle. For your stopping pleasure, power disc brakes are in front and back. Undercarriage Clean and uniformly black underneath with just some residual oil on the pan but no visible leak. The dual exhaust are born from headers and wear glasspack style mufflers before they head east and west to exit via the rectangular tips. Suspension includes a Mustang II front end and a 4 link with coil springs in back. The underside is free of dirt, grease, and rust. Drive-Ability The cozy cabin of 30s Fords never cease to provide a comfortable and compact cockpit and this easy to drive rod is made even easier with the moderately powered 350ci V8, which sounds awesome, and carries this car around the loop briskly. It handles well thanks to its lowered center of gravity and wide tires, and the brakes are more than adequate to bring this black beauty to a trot, then a stop. Unfortunately, we note the A/C is not working, nor the wipers, so rain and extreme heat will have to wait. Meanwhile, all other functions operate as they should, including the nifty gauges. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Classic Auto Mall continues to be the go to spot for well crafted and turnkey street rods, and this 34 doesnt disappoint. You simply cant go wrong with basic black and its great partnership with polished metal is epic. ZZ top fans unite, heres a 34 that might not look exactly like the 33 Eliminator, but it shares a lot of the vibe. Gimme all your lovin and dont let up until were through! And by through, we mean you driving away in this Model 40.
