Classic Car Overview

The MG J2 is a road-going two-seater produced from 1932-1934. Early models had cycle wing fenders until they were replaced in late 1933 by the full-length fender type typical of all sports MGs until the 1950s TF. The top speed of a standard car was 65 mph (105 km/h), but one tested by The Autocar magazine reached 82 mph (132 km/h). The car cost 19936 bhp, 847 cc overhead-camshaft inline four-cylinder engine with dual SU carburetors, four-speed manual transmission, front and rear suspension with half-elliptic springs and Hartford friction shock absorbers and rigid axles, and four-wheel cable-operated drum brakes. Wheelbase: 86 in The J2, introduced in 1933, was the most prolific of the MG J-Type models. It featured a folding windscreen, fixed mudguards, and cutaway doors, and its sporting nature was perfectly displayed in its equally sporting bodywork. The J-Type s styling came to define early MGs, as it transcended both pre- and post-war manufacture, and it characterized the best aspects of British sports cars by combining a small but powerful engine, wonderful handling, and lightweight bodywork with a strong chassis.Frame Off Restoration1 of Only 2083 Made847cc Straight-4 (36hp)Overhead Camshaft, Crossflow Enginelength 128 in (3,251 mm) and width 51.5 (1,308 mm)wheelbase of 86 in (2,184 mm) and a track of 42 in (1,067 mm)weight 1,100 lbs Visit JKs Galleria Of Vintage, Classic and Pristine Cars for your next vehicle.
