Classic Car Overview

Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to present 1933 Ford 3 Window Coupe. Some hot rods are built to be noticed. Others seem to demand it. This 1933 Ford 3 Window Coupe falls squarely into the second category. With an all-steel body, a dramatically chopped top, classic flames stretching front to back, and the kind of stance that looks like it belongs on a Hot Wheels package, this is a true definition of the American hot rod.

Start with the body. The all-steel 1933 Ford 3 Window Coupe has been transformed with a custom chopped top, sitting approximately 3 feet at the front and 4 feet at the rear. The black paint provides the seamless canvas for the iconic flame treatment coming off the front of the car, giving this Ford the unmistakable look of a traditional hot rod brought into a modern build.

But the real story continues underneath. The original foundation has been replaced with a new frame from The Roadster Shop, giving this coupe a purpose-built platform for its restomod transformation. Up front, a polished Heidts independent front suspension adds another modern component to the chassis, while a 9-inch Ford rear end and 4-link rear suspension handle the rear of the car.

Power comes from a Chevrolet ZZ4 crate engine producing 355 horsepower, backed by a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. That combination puts the driver directly into the experience, giving this Ford the mechanical character that hot rod enthusiasts look for. Power brakes add to the driving experience, while air conditioning brings some modern comfort to the cabin.

The stance is finished off with staggered wheels and tires, with 15-inch tires up front and 17-inch tires in the rear. Boyd Coddington wheels complete the look, giving the car the kind of period-inspired custom appearance that fits perfectly with its chopped profile and flame-painted exterior.

Inside, the theme continues with a custom white and black leather interior. A tilt steering wheel adds convenience, while the combination of the leather upholstery and classic hot rod styling gives the cabin a finished appearance without taking away from the character of the car.

There is something special about a hot rod that gets the proportions right. The chopped roof, long hood, low stance, exposed mechanical character, black paint, flames, and staggered wheels all work together to create an image that has been part of American car culture for generations. This 1933 Ford takes that image and turns it into a complete restomod with modern chassis components, V8 power, a 5-speed manual transmission, and creature comforts you can appreciate from behind the wheel.

Calling this simply a 1933 Ford 3 Window Coupe doesnt quite tell the whole story. This is an all-steel hot rod built around a Roadster Shop frame, powered by a 355 horsepower ZZ4 crate motor, shifted through a Tremec 5-speed, riding on a polished independent front suspension and 4-link rear, and finished in the classic black-and-flames combination. It looks like the kind of car someone would have drawn on the back of a notebook before turning it into a real car. In this case, someone actually did.

The 1933 Ford 3 Window Coupe is one of those cars that can stop you in your tracks before you even know what youre looking at. It has the attitude, proportions, mechanical upgrades, and visual presence that define the hot rod tradition, while offering enough modern touches to make the experience more than just a trip down memory lane. This is a Hot Wheels-inspired dream brought into the real world, built in steel, powered by a V8, and ready to be appreciated from every angle.
