This custom-built 1931 Ford Model A roadster is an absolute masterpiece of traditional hot rodding, built with no expense spared to a incredibly high standard! Straight out of the pages of the blueprint book How to Build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod, this high-dollar build captures the pure, visceral essence of post-war speed culture.
The immaculate Brookville steel body sits perfectly on a custom-tailored stance, achieved by a Zd frame in the rear to drop the body 4 inches, alongside a frame and front crossmember tilted rearward 5 degrees. Up front, a 1932 radiator shell, a 17-degree raked windshield, and a Pete & Jake 4-inch dropped and drilled front axle give this roadster an aggressive, timeless silhouette. It rolls on authentic American Classic bias-ply tires, accented by 1949 Pontiac taillights and a faux quick-change rear end out back.
Up front youll find a work of mechanical art: a 1946 Ford Model 59AB flathead V8. This block was acid-dipped, high-pressure cleaned, and built to perfection-bored .030 over, ported, relieved, balanced, and blueprinted. Its loaded with period-correct speed parts, including a polished NOS Mercury crankshaft, an Iskendarian 400 Jr. camshaft, and aluminum Offenhauser heads topped with a dual-carb Offenhauser intake. Custom-built headers and side pipes deliver that unmistakable flathead rumble, though it features hidden mufflers and tailpipes for cruising (templates to cap the headers are included). Power is routed through a 1937 Ford three-speed top-loader transmission upgraded with legendary Lincoln Zephyr gears, resting on a 1932 K member.
Inside, the traditional theme is flawless. A 1932 Ford dash houses an El Mirage salt flats dash plate, while a 1937 Ford original steering wheel mounts to a 1955 F-100 steering box and column for authentic, firm handling. Stopping power is period-perfection thanks to massive 1955 Buick 12-inch finned front drum brakes. The interior also features a hidden stereo beneath the seat (currently inoperable) and comes with a custom tonneau cover to protect the cockpit, plus two uninstalled hoods to change up your look at the next show.
Traditional hot rods built to this exacting, high-end standard rarely hit the market. If you want a turn-key, period-correct time machine that will dominate any car show or traditional gathering, dont sleep on this Model A roadster!
