Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Savoy Faire is Everywhere

The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview

Redline Restorations is pleased to offer this 1931 Buick 80 4-Door Sedan. The Buick Series 80 was popular choice between working professionals, and had coined the nickname the “Doctors Car”. The Series 80 and Buick line-up were well respected and considered an upgrade from Oldsmobile and Chevrolet, offering “Superior Performance at an Affordable Price”.

This particular 1931 Buick belonged to retired fire Chief Pasquale Batinelli. He had the Buick since he was chief of Stamford’s Glenbrook Fire Department. The words “CHIEF” were painted on the front doors with gold-leaf lettering so it was not a surprise when he showed up to a calls.

In 1931, Buick introduced a new inline-8 cylinder motor that was capable of roughly 100 horsepower. This engine was used in their 50, 60, 80, and 90 models. Buick utilized this straight eight engine style for over two decades because of its power, efficiency, and dependability. The Mohair interior was recently re-upholstered and shows in excellent condition. The attention to detail from the door cards to the headliner makes for an unmatchable driving experience.
