In the 1920s and 30s, Alfa Romeo established itself as a dominant force in motorsport and started competing with the most reputable brands in the world. They took 1st place at the first ever Grand Prix World Championship in 1925 as well as four separate 24 Hour Le Mans, 11 Mille Miglia, Targa Florio and hundreds of other trophies and records that all contribute to their unique history. Without Alfa Romeo the world of automobiles that we know today would be completely different, even Enzo Ferrari began his racing career with Alfa Romeo, initially as a driver and later as a team manager, gaining valuable experience for over 20 years that would shape his future and lead to the creation of Ferrari as we know it. This Alfa Romeo tribute for sale here does a fantastic job at capturing the spirit of that era, kit built by Antique and Classics Inc. in Buffalo - New York, fiberglass body finished in a bright red with white racing numbers, exactly as it would have been in the 30s and full of unique prewar features such as the side mounted spare tire with a three point harness and rear view mirror, large prewar authentic wire wheels, long ornamental chrome exhaust running down the drivers side, leather straps to hold the hood down, vintage Alfa Romeo style grill with badging, detached fenders front and rear, antique racing windshields on both passenger and driver side, functional prewar style chrome headlights, and much more to be mentioned, packed with nice details all around that help give it the real vintage race car look that many of these other replicas lack. On the inside youll find a nice and clean black carpet matching the black bench along with a vintage style wooden dash and wooden steering wheel with various Alfa Romeo badging throughout. This recreation is powered by a rear four cylinder VW engine mated to a 4 speed manual transmission, runs, drives, shifts and brakes as it should, plenty of power for a light car like this one, nice and clean engine compartment. Given that the engine is in the rear, the front offers a lot of legroom to accommodate taller drivers as well as a compartment for the battery and gas tank as seen in the photos.
