Classic Car Overview
350 V8 TH350 Automatic TCI Chassis Wescott Body Only 500 Miles on Build
This 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup is a beautifully executed hot rod packed with thoughtful details everywhere you look. Combining traditional hot-rod styling with a 350ci Chevrolet V8, TH350 automatic, custom TCI chassis, Ford rear end, rack-and-pinion steering, four- wheel performance upgrades, and a beautifully finished custom interior, this is a lightweight roadster pickup built to be driven and enjoyed.
With only approximately 500 miles since completion, the build remains exceptionally fresh and presents beautifully from the body and interior right down to its highly detailed undercarriage.
The truck uses a fiberglass roadster body paired with a steel pickup bed, all sitting on a purpose-built TCI chassis. The frame and suspension are beautifully finished, and the stance is dialed in with classic Halibrand-style wheels, wide rear rubber, and a traditional hot-rod chopped rake.
Under the lift-off hood is a 350ci Chevrolet small-block V8 backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine features an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, finned aluminum valve covers, electronic ignition, shorty headers, heat shielding around the plug wires, and numerous polished and chrome details.
A custom aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan keeps the small-block cool, while a full stainless-steel exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers gives the truck a deep, traditional hot-rod sound without taking away from its drivability.
Power is sent to a Ford 8-inch rear end, while the chassis incorporates adjustable rear coilovers and a ladder-bar setup.

One of the standout elements is the custom oak-finished pickup bed. The natural oak wood adds warmth and craftsmanship to the otherwise performance-oriented build and provides a great contrast against the stunning black paint and polished mechanical components.
The rear steel bed incorporates cleverly designed storage compartments, nestled in 2 wine barrel-style storage and an additional concealed area intended for keeping paperwork and other small items protected. The battery is neatly housed within the rear storage area along with a cutoff switch, and an Optima gel battery is installed. The 2nd half of the wine barrel is the fuel tank with a chrome flush mount cap
The steel bed also incorporates beautifully finished hardware and extensive custom detailing. Its the kind of build where the more time you spend looking, the more small touches you discover.
The roadster body has been chopped approximately four inches, including the windshield, giving the truck its low, aggressive profile. The windshield also tilts for additional open-air character.
A top frame is included with the truck and is ready to be fitted with the owners choice of canvas material.

The interior is equally impressive. Beautiful HD Vinyl upholstery covers the seating, while both seats are power-operated and heated-an unusual level of comfort in a traditional roadster pickup.
A three-spoke wood steering wheel adds the right vintage touch, complemented by classic- style AutoMeter gauges mounted in a billet bezel.
A Lokar shifter and Lokar pedal assembly continue the quality theme, while seat belts provide an additional measure of security. Even the shifter boot and smaller trim pieces have been carefully finished to complement the rest of the build.

The underside deserves just as much attention as the top. The chassis, suspension, exhaust, and hardware have all been carefully finished rather than treated as an afterthought. Adjustable coilovers, the ladder-bar rear setup, polished components, and stainless exhaust make the undercarriage nearly as impressive as the exterior.
On the road, the truck is surprisingly comfortable for such a compact, lightweight hot rod. The 350 V8 starts easily, runs smoothly, and sounds fantastic, while the automatic transmission, rack-and-pinion steering, and well-sorted suspension make it an approachable cruiser rather than a car thats only enjoyable sitting at a show.
With its TCI chassis, 350/TH350 drivetrain, custom suspension, oak bed, heated power seats, LED lighting, stainless exhaust, and approximately 500 miles since completion, this 1929 Ford is a distinctive hot rod with craftsmanship evident throughout.
Its a truck built around the details-and the closer you look, the more there is to appreciate, you wont see another one like it amongst the common muscle cars!
