Classic Car Overview

This 1927 Dodge Brothers Model 124 Standard Roadster was beautifully and correctly restored a number of years ago. It wears some Deluxe options, such as a Motometer, cowl lights, running board step plates, and more. It also features correct colors and wears wooden artillery wheels. POWERTRAIN Power comes from a 212-cu.in. L-head inline-four, which Dodge rated at 35 horsepower when new. The engine starts, idles, and runs well, after the operator turns on the fuel and power under the hood. There are no known leaks with the engine or three-speed sliding-gear transmission. The transmission is non-synchronized, requiring double-clutching. Theres also a new 8-volt battery with a provision for a trickle charger. EXTERIOR The green exterior of this Standard Roadster is in very good condition, with correct colors and details. The age of the paintwork is unknown, but it has held up well, with very few blemishes. Some slight damage is noted on the right-front fender. The exterior trim and glass are in nice shape. The only body corrosion is a minor spot on the trunk. Correct options on the car include a Motometer, cowl lights, running board step plates, a spare wheel, front and rear bumpers, and a taillight. All the exterior lights are in working order and the headlights have a dimmer. The tan convertible roof is also in very good condition. INTERIOR As was the case with mostly lower- and mid-priced automobiles of the era, this Dodge Brothers roadsters interior is sparsely equipped. It has a speedometer, ammeter, and oil pressure gauge in the instrument panel. The speedometer and odometer do not work, but the other gauges do. The cozy cabin features a brown vinyl-trimmed seat and matching door panels, a rubber floor cover, and a thick, wooden steering wheel. All are in very good condition, with light, use-related wear. CHASSIS The chassis and suspension components are in good condition, with no issues or needs. They are essentially in stock condition, with equipment including rear leaf springs and two-wheel (rear) mechanical brakes. The car rolls on 21-inch reproduction Firestone whitewall tires mounted on 21-inch wooden artillery wheels. The wheels and tires are in very good condition, but the age of the tires is unknown.
