Classic Car Overview
Power comes from a 4-cylinder engine rated at 25 horsepower. While retaining its authentic Brass Era character, this Hudson benefits from numerous carefully executed upgrades designed to enhance drivability, reliability, and safety during modern touring events. These improvements include a 12-volt electric starter, modern alternator and battery system, updated ignition coil system, electric fuel pump, modern radiator core housed within the original brass radiator shell, electric lighting with turn signals and brake lights, and a semi-modern fully synchronized 3-speed manual transmission that continues to utilize the original shift lever and stock leather-faced cone clutch. Engine modifications are believed to include higher-compression pistons, camshaft upgrades, and an updated carburetor. Together, these enhancements allow the car to accelerate confidently and comfortably cruise at speeds approaching 45 mph, making it exceptionally enjoyable for organized tours and road events.
The exterior presents very well, benefiting from paintwork completed within the last decade on the body, frame, wheels, undercarriage, and fenders. The finish remains attractive and well-maintained, while the brass-era styling continues to command attention wherever the car travels. The folding top is newer and remains in excellent condition.
Inside, the leather upholstery is older but remains well-kept, attractive, and fully serviceable. Interior carpets show expected wear from use and enjoyment but remain in overall good condition. The cabin reflects a vehicle that has been carefully preserved and regularly exercised rather than hidden away, adding to its authentic touring appeal.
Mechanically, this Hudson is a strong-running and proven touring car. The current owners have thoroughly enjoyed the vehicle on organized events and tours, and its recent participation in HCCA activities demonstrates its roadworthiness and reliability. The thoughtful upgrades enhance the ownership experience while preserving the vehicles historic character and appearance.
Introduced during the formative years of the American automobile industry, the Hudson Model 20 helped establish the companys reputation for quality engineering and dependable performance. Today, early Hudsons remain highly respected among Brass Era collectors for their historical significance, touring capability, and rarity.
Included with the sale are a spare engine block, the original 3-speed transmission, and decades of cherished family memories associated with the cars continued enjoyment. This 1910 Hudson represents an outstanding opportunity to acquire a proven Brass Era touring automobile that is equally suited for HCCA events, vintage tours, shows, and continued enjoyment on the open road.
