Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a super clean 1974 Grand Prix Model J. There is a class of vehicle which is becoming more and more difficult to find: original and unrestored. With the popularity of resto-mods, or complete frame off restorations, there are fewer and fewer survivors out there. This particular 1974 Pontiac Grand Prix is an unrestored car with 54,986 original miles. The engine and trans are original and believed to have never been out of the car. It has the 400 CID V8 and an automatic which run and shift beautifully. The exterior is green which is in surprising great shape for the age of the vehicle. Needless to say, most mid 70s muscle cars have either been wrapped around trees or rusted to pieces. It great to see such a well-preserved piece of Pontiac history. Opening the door is like stepping back in time. The green upholstery is in wonderful condition as is the dash and steering wheel. This was a high line vehicle in the 70s, so it s loaded with all the goodies: Air Conditioning, AM/FM/Cassette, power steering, power brakes, and even power windows! Whether you re a Pontiac collector, or just entering the classic car hobby, this cream puff 1974 Grand Prix Model J would be a great addition to any collection. You can see this beauty in greater detail in our Chicago showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 708-444-4488 or firstname.lastname@example.org with inquiries. Numbers matching, PHS documented, survivor w/29,891 on odometer. SJ trim, 428, TH400, 370 HP, 472 lb. ft. torque. 80% original paint, rust free. Lots of options: power windows, power locks, power trunk, working R-12 A/C, AM/FM stereo w/new speakers, tilt wheel, rallye gauge pkg. and cruise control (not working). Interior is nearly perfect. Not original: tires, wheels, exhaust, shocks, ignition (Pertronix) easily reversed, master cylinder, water pump, and trunk mat. I can't prove the mileage, but everything about the car speaks to its accuracy. The car goes straight and true down the road and does not rattle, squeak, or vibrate. It has normal patina under the hood and under the car. There are a few scratches, chips, touch ups, and one small ding in the right door. Everything you would expect in a 50 year old car. Comes with original Rallye II wheels w/tires (need restored), service manual, PHS docs, gas tank build sheet, California car cover, and approx. 50 lbs. of R-12 in a reclaim tank. I also have a 4-speed console (VERY RARE) and a pedal set if someone wants to do a conversion.

The Grand Prix was offered as a convertible in 1967 only, a 1 year model! I sold this car 10 years ago and that couple babied and thoroughly enjoyed it. EXTERIOR: What a great color on this car and the paint job is excellent if I might say so myself. The metal flake is laid out evenly, the clear coat is buffed to a glossy smooth finish. All the body panels fit dead on, they fit square and flush. If you look close, yes you will find a few little touch ups or nicks, but Im telling you its a quality body and paint. In front has the hidden headlights which is unique to the GP. All the chrome and trim shows real well, not new but shiny and straight. Grills are in great shape, windshield looks new. The windows fit to the convertible top really, really well especially for a convertible. The top is white still very good. Has pearl white boot when the top is down. The door jambs are very clean, painted nicely, weatherstrips are real nice, bottom of door is clean. It has original stainless door edge guards. If youre going to have one of these big Pontiacs, 8 lug wheels are a must and this car has them! INTERIOR: The pearl white interior is beautiful against the blue exterior. I tell you what, Im sitting in the car right now and its really well cared for. Im looking at the dash and all the chrome sparkles, the burl wood trim is excellent. The knobs, vents, instrument cluster are all in really great shape. Has a factory Am-Fm radio. Of course part of the Grand Prix package was bucket seats and a console. The upholstery is in excellent shape and cushions in the seats are still nice and firm. The door panels are great, armrests are not cracked, even the cranks and handles are excellent. Visors, mirror, seat belts are great too. The carpet is excellent and it has reproduction Pontiac floor mats. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Motor compartment is cleaned up nicely. It looks stock. It has a stock 1967 400-360 hp H.O. engine with the Pontiac aqua paint, original air cleaner and a 4-barrel carb. The alternator and master cylinder look recently replaced. Factory air conditioning system is all hooked up. Everything looks proper. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is huge, the full size spare is hardly noticeable! Has jack and mat too. It looks like its original clean metal. I dont see any patching, quarter panels look like theyre the originals. Its been spatter painted. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb is painted nicely, weatherstrip is excellent. UNDERSIDE: Very clean and respectable. Floors look like solid original metal. Clean braces, lower 1/4s, inner rockers. Its been cleaned and a light coat of satin paint was applied to look nice. Bottom of motor and trans are clean. Has original Turbo 400 automatic. Everything looks proper. The front end components look good, e-brake cables are hooked up, nice dual exhaust etc. No issues that I see, actually I was very pleased. This is a sleek, yet handsome car with full size luxury and still its sporty. It is also a very nice example considering its colors, options and condition. I consider it a very well preserved honest car. Air conditioning Power steering Power brakes Power top 8 lug wheels Am-Fm Bucket seats Console Retractable lights Fender skirts
(Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, its possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) Regardless of the year, this is the cleanest Grand Prix weve ever seen. This 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix LE was purchased brand new through Schroder Motors of Benton Harbor, MI. Our client acquired the vehicle from a local family that bought three brand new Pontiacs at the same time. The car has been stored indoors and driven occasionally since with our client purchasing all three cars a couple years ago. It has only 53k original miles. The car remains 100-percent original except for the PMD wheels (the original wheels are available with purchase) with brand new rubber. The car is finished in the original two-tone paint that has been untouched from the factory: Silver (12) and Medium Gray (15). It is powered by the original, numbers matching 3.8L V6 engine mated to a column-shifted automatic transmission. It has power steering, power brakes, power windows, original radio, rear defroster, wood grain trim, front disc brakes, and factory functioning air conditioning. The car fires on command, runs and drives well, and remains rust-free. It has clearly been cared for and is one of the nicest Grand Prixs on the market. Relive your youth behind the wheel of this beauty. Be sure to check out all the photos, including undercarriage, and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Highly Original and Solid California Car, RARE Twin Trim Tag Car, 389ci V8, Factory A/C, 8-Lug Brakes, Bucket Seats, Power Windows, PHS Documents We are excited to have this sleek car in our inventory! A Gentlemans Musclecar with an interesting feature, not to mention a lot of great options! This is a very rare Twin Tag car, meaning that it has two factory trim tags mounted on the cowl. This is correct and the way it came from the production plant. The PHS paperwork that we have for the car does not specify a color for the car, just that a special order color was ordered. (See Pics) So the Twin Trim Tags make sense. A standard looking Trim Tag shows special under Paint, and the other Trim Tag shows the color as being Goldwood Yellow. Goldwood Yellow was a color that was available in limited numbers on the 64 Impala SS, so long as you wanted a Goldwood Yellow Coupe with Black interior. This car is highly original and shows very well for its age. The body is straight, panels line up just as they should, the interior is in great condition with just a couple small flaws. This Grand Prix was optioned very well for a car of the day with things like bucket seats, retracting seatbelts, Air Conditioning, Console, Electric Clock, Factory Tach, Power Steering, Power Windows, and Power 8-Lug Brakes. Under the hood is a 389ci V8 mated to a M35 Hydromatic Automatic Transmission, giving this car the persona of a Gentlemans Musclecar. It is sleek and classy looking, but the 303 horsepower V8 with 4BBL Carb and Dual Exhaust allows an element of surprise leaving the traffic lights.
