Youre looking at the real-deal here. This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner is a true A12 car (M in the VINs fifth digit, and on the fender tag.) Less than 1,500 examples came from the factory with the 440 Six Pack, and you get to take full control of this screamer thanks to the four-speed stick shift. Oh yeah, this is definitely the Mopar muscle machine to own! The A12 was all about speed, so its on a diet of minimal options to keep the weight down. But this hardtop coupe still manages to have plenty of flair. The white paint helps to showcase the mean black wheels and the matte black hood. And speaking of the hood, that lift-off lightweight unit is a piece we all love because it truly reminds everyone its a race car for the streets. And that scoop on top that looks like it wants to inhale all other vehicles on the road as it passes them by. The 440 decals on that, combined with the Road Runner cartoon graphics, shows everyone that this serious equipment still has a playful side. There are no racing stripes or spoilers, because the designs muscular blocky lines and extra wide chrome bumpers do all the talking better than any add-on ever could. Open the door to one of the best interiors you will ever see on a Road Runner. Where most of these are dark-and-stark budget classics, this car features an interesting, original, and attractive two-tone green. The vinyl seats and door panels are looking great, and it keeps plenty of original elements, including the heater/defrost controls and the AM radio. Theres plenty of room for family and friends, but its the driver thats clearly the most important in this Plymouth. You slip into the bucket seat and grab the three-spoke wheel with the Road Runner horn cap. Beyond that is a full set of factory gauges and auxiliary readouts under the dash. This package includes a tach, which especially helpful because the Hurst performance shifter is a huge source of fun. But your favorite feature of this muscle machine is under the hood. Its a true 440 cubic-inch V8 with triple set of dual carbs (the legendary Six Pack.) This is a true M-code coupe, and that gives you true rarity. In fact, while this is not the original V8, it is a correct 69 440 block that was rebuilt using as many components as possible from the coupes original factor motor. Fully detailed with Hemi Orange paint, a proper air cleaner, and gleaming valve covers, this engine looks like a physical manifestation of horsepower. And the long tube headers with the chambered dual exhaust means the world can hear your domination from the moment this V8 roars to life. So youll love creating your own symphony of raw horsepower as the four-speed stick shift keeps you in total control of this monstrous package. If you cherish performance, few muscle cars are more pure in their pursuit of it than the A12 Mopars, and this awesome coupe delivers all the thrills youd expect. Call now!!... Read more

A stick-shift, bucket seat 1969 Plymouth Road Runner with its original 383 V8 under the hood and (nearly) impossibly low mileage... Oh yeah, were offering you Mopar muscle car royalty. How often do you get to see a survivor-grade serious muscle machine? This Road Runner was purchased less than two hours from our showroom and has remained with the same family (father and son) for its whole lifetime. Thats why you can get such an appreciated muscle Mopar from a time when most were abused every Saturday night. The factory-correct Sunfire Yellow paint is the right kind of bright to attract attention to this special coupe. We also love the paint because it seems to go with the Road Runners attitude. After all, every Chrysler B-body of the era had an imposing look thanks to the wide stance and flared fenders, and this one even goes further with the performance hood and redline tires on Mopars Mag wheels. But the Road Runner had fun mixed into its attitude. The bright color combined with the grin-like wide bumpers and Warner Brothers bird make this an entertaining way to make a fast getaway. These were midsize muscle cars, but that designation in the 60s means full-size comfort today. So theres plenty of room to have family and friends riding with you, but you dont need any of them to have fun with this Road Runner. The intricate pattern of the bucket seats and center console (quite premium for a Plymouth) instantly reminds you that this Road Runner is a drivers car. And because this one has averaged less than 450 miles annually you know there was little time to wear in this survivor-grade interior. Thats why you get all the great original features from the 8-track radio to the three-poke steering wheel with cartoon center cap (and yes, the horn still gives his Beep! Beep!) But we bet your favorite sound happens when you twist the key. From the moment you lift the hood, you know exactly why this one gets your heart racing. The 383 cubic-inch V8 in the engine bay is the original motor installed by the St. Louis factory nearly a half-century ago. With that big bold block paint and correct Road Runner on top, it looks like a beacon of performance in the engine bay. So you know youre going to wow people with this much power and preservation in one package. It inhales deeply from a four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority through the rumbling dual exhaust. Best of all, you have complete control over the big V8s power and its thunderous soundtrack thanks the correct four-speed manual transmission. This is the kind of performance package that we know you wont be able to resist adding to the ultra-low mileage on the odometer. Because youre going to love telling this cars story, it also comes with the right paperwork to back it all up including the original window sticker, factory build sheet, and title documentation. Such a well-preserved muscle machine is a true rarity, especially when its a Mopar. So an in-demand classic like this is a case of call us today or you may regret it tomorrow!... Read more

Heres a slick blue 1971 Plymouth Road Runner with a freshly built 440 V8 that has enough power to outrun the factory Beep! Beep! machines. So when youre looking for serious Mopar muscle thats still on its break-in miles, read on... If youre going to build a Road Runner, 1971 is the exact right year. This is the only time the famous 440 was available with the cool fuselage styling. This new design really went for the sinister side. The full front overhang makes the headlights look like the eyes of a criminal lurking in the darkness, and the huge rear wing makes this Road Runner a bird of prey. Plus, this gets the details right with the side strobe stripes and the sport hood with 440 callouts. But theres also a brighter side to this coupe. The Bright Blue Metallic looks like it was borrowed from the Warner Brothers cartoon character thats all around the car... a very cool touch. Its always nice when the exterior accents are a preview for the interior. Plus, theres nothing better on a true muscle machine then a deep, dark black. Factory wood paneling nicely breaks up this darkness with a period-correct premium appearance. The bench seats of this big coupe make it a legitimate six-passenger automobile, and the upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth with keep everyone happy. But its the driver thats clearly the most important in this Plymouth. The entire controls and gauges are centered around you. Plus, you get a grippy three-spoke wheel with the proper center cap that reminds you this Road Runner properly goes Beep! Beep! When you look under the hood, the bold block paint, shiny air topper, and matching valve covers look like they are radiating power from within the painted engine bay. The reason why everything looks so fresh and clean is because its so new. With only 100 miles on this motor, you still get to help break it in! Not only is the V8 fresh, but also youre looking at a monster 440 cubic-inch Magnum V8 topped with a four-barrel carburetor. With a newer motor you get to take advantage of more modern components, and the consignor says this is producing around 400 horsepower! So while the horn might sound like a fun cartoon character, the dual exhaust rumbles like a menacing villain. And because you have this big power upgrade, be glad there are supporting components like the stout A727 Torqueflight three-speed automatic transmission and a limited slip rear end. Plus, you have great any time driving features like power steering, a thick sway bar up front, and BF Goodrich T/As on iconic Rallye wheels. Supplemented with receipts and photos, youre looking at a well presented and ferociously powerful Mopar with a fresh heart. Dont let this one slip away. Call now!... Read more

BID AND WIN this vehicle on www.WheelerAuctionGroup.com Available for the first time in nearly 20 years! Only 3 owners since new. Numbers matching 383 and automatic transmission. Mechanic owned and maintained. One repaint 16 years ago. Interior original with exception of rear seat redone around same time as paint work. Original chrome and bright work. Runs and drives like new. Plenty of receipts and paperwork over the past 20 years. Original rear end changed to 2.94 but all parts saved to return to stock if desired. Original wheels and hubcaps included. Solid, rust free car. Turn key car, get in and go! Plymouth stole a march on everybody else in 1968 with the Road Runner. This time Plymouth got it right; putting a 335 bhp 383 cid V-8 engine with 440 Super Commando heads and camshaft in a bare bones 3,000-lb, two-door hardtop with a 4-speed floor-shift synchro transmission. Base price was $2,870, skinned down to a rubber floor mat and non-pleat taxicab interior. A total of 29,240 buyers bought the coupe and a further 15,359 stepped up for the two-door hardtop which was added mid-year for the 44,559 total. If you wanted carpet and brightwork you had to spend $79.20 for the dcor group. The base car was quick and simple, and capped by a charming beep-beep Road Runner cartoon horn, which supposedly cost $50,000 to license from Warner Brothers (plus $10,000 to develop the beep-beep sound). The Road Runner was a bargain-basement performance version of the Belvedere and Satellite lineups. At the end of the year, Plymouth sales had risen 12 percent and the division remained the number four U.S. automaker in the sales race. Popular Road Runner options included an automatic transmission ($299), blackout hood ($18), vinyl roof ($79), among others. Vehicle is located in Wisconsin, USA. We have a beautiful 1973 Plymouth Road Runner coated in a stunning Blue hue with black vinyl interior. It boasts a 360CI V8 backed by a three speed auto trans. This is a stunning vehicle that deserves to be taken out on the road or to a local car show. The 1973-74 models received completely new sheet metal and had more conventional squared-up front-end styling and changes to the rear that more closely resembled the four-door models than the 71-72s. In addition, the interior options included retaining power seats and windows as well as offering plusher carpeting and seat covers, moving the car to a slightly higher level of luxury. The restyling helped sales which were up 40% over the 1972 models. In testing 1/4 mile times were getting close to the 16s, top speeds had dropped to barely over 125 mph (201 km/h), and the car moved further away from musclecar status. The base engine for the 1973-74 models had dropped down to Chryslers workaday 318 CID V8 but equipped with dual exhausts which bumped the power up to 170 hp (127 kW). After 1972, no 440 with four-speed manual cars were built. The code E68 400 cu in 260 hp engine was the biggest Plymouth offered with the 4-speed, which could also be had with the 340 (1973), and 360 (1974) engines. The 318 was equipped with a 3-speed manual transmission as standard (though very few were built), and the TorqueFlite as an option, though at least one 318 engine 1974 car was built with the 4-speed manual transmission equipped with a Hurst shifter. The 440 cu in engine, boasting 280 hp was still available for 1973 and 1974, but only mated to the 727 TorqueFlite automatic, with 3.55 sure-grip 8 3/4 rear axle gearing available. This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. We are tremendously proud to offer for sale this first generation 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. It is available for viewing and inquiry at our Gateway Classic Cars Showroom in Saint Louis. One thing that should really excite you about this Mopar is the recently completed exterior paint job. The high-satin-gloss purple paint with gold stripes makes this Plymouth Roadrunner look strikingly royal. On the passenger-side rear, there is a classic Plymouth Road Runner Standing Bird decal. There are just a couple of minor imperfections that might withhold it from being truly award-winning show car quality, but for the uninitiated, there is nothing pure joy to behold here. Similarly, the interior has been very well-kept, with just a couple of things to prove that it is an original. The white vinyl interior is nice and tight and shows extremely little wear. The headliner is clean and doesnt show any stains, tears, or smoke damage. The dash looks original and does not show signs of normal aging or fading from exposure to the sun. Underneath the air-grabber hood is a 440 Six Pack V8 with only 63,502 miles which are believed to be actual to the car. Built from 1967 to 1971, the 440 Six Pack is a high-performance engine that has light wall construction, precision cast-iron block, and iron heads. This Roadrunner is a beast class muscle car that you can immediately enjoy. One of the most iconic Mopar muscle cars of all time is the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner in Vitamin C Orange. This car was originally built at the Lynch Road assembly plant in Detroit with a scheduled production date of April 26, 1969. Making it a 1969 and one of 422 that were built with the 440-6bbl as well as an A833 4-Speed manual transmission. Do not let the cartoon bird on the car s body panels fool you, this car means business and is not to be taken lightly. If cars could tell tales we are more than certain that any car that dared line up next to this one was sure to see a set of tail lights through its windshield in no time! The factory steel long quarter panels are ripple-free and still showcase that neat slash of relief along the upper edge. Panel gaps are good, and the monstrous hood scoop sits in the middle of a satin black hood designed to emulate the mighty A-12 cars that terrorized drag strips in late 1969. The interior is quite stock and while it emulates a no-frills attitude, the bench seat has a very handsome look. Theres a 4-speed shifter sticking out of the floor so theres no weight-adding console to slow you down and its topped with a proper pistol-grip handle! The factory gauges include an in-dash tachometer and work just as great as they work and serve almost as a glimpse into a time machine. What truly sets this Road Runner apart from other cars of its time is the numbers matching 440 cubic inch V8 punching out 390 horsepower. Topping off that power plant is the much sought after six pack. Inhaling through that giant scoop, the bright Hemi Orange torque factory looks ready for show and still retains the factory look. The 4-speed manual transmission feeds a bulletproof Dana 60 rear end, which houses a set of 4:00 gears. This is a REAL V code Roadrunner, one of only 109 built. The body on the car is in great shape, I could not find any rust holes under the car any were. The paint on this car is out standing, it is show car quality. The attention to detail in the paint work is great. This car was torn apart and painted, and wet sanded and buffed every were. The trunk is in new condition with the spare and jack stuff all there. The deluxe interior looks new, the interior needs nothing. All the glass looks original. All the chrome is brand new. The go wing and chin spoiler and rear window slats are all 1971 factory road runner options. Even the Beep Beep horn works. The motor is the original 440 6 pak motor, with the vin # stamped on the bottom of the passenger side of the block. The motor runs great. The trans is also # matching with the vin stamped on the side of the trans and it shifts great. The car has the fender tag and the broad cast sheet. The car still has the owners manual, and mic and strap, for the cassette deck that was factory. The brakes work great. It has pwr steering. The wipers are not working im not sure why. The heater works, the lights, high beam, blinkers, the radio, the tach, and the speedo all work. This car is a blast to drive and man does it get the attention... Read more
