Here is a nice 1970 Ford Torino GT Convertible. This car is a true GT car. It came from the factory with a 351 engine according to the vin number but now has a 429 engine from the same time period. The engine runs great. It has an automatic transmission that shifts out like it should. This car is a solid car. The body is straight and the paint has a good shine to it. Hard to beat a Red convertible especially with White interior. I have not seen any rust bubbles. The trunk is solid. The interior bucket seats with console are in good condition. The top looks new. It is a power top that goes up and down good. The boot cover is brand new. It has factory power steering and power brakes that are still drum. The car just got a brand new Vintage Air system put on it. The bumpers are original and are not perfect but still look good. It has good tires and correct wheels. Very eye catching car. You do not see many of these 1970 Torino GT cars much, especially a convertible. If you are a Ford guy this car is a must have.

They say competition makes you tougher. If that’s the case, this is one of the toughest cars there is. In ‘69, Ford needed an answer to the red-hot Road Runner, and NASCAR racing was at its zenith with Petty, Yarborough, Pearson, and Baker duking it out every week. The Torino Cobra is the product of all this performance mayhem. And the Ford Drag Team took Cobras with them to compete in NHRA Super Stock action. You simply can’t go wrong with this package. It starts with the legendary 428 Cobra Jet mill, then the C6 Automatic, and finally the practically bullet proof 9-inch rear. An axle so tough, it’s often seen in hot cars of non-Ford origin. This one has it all. The fact that it’s red with a black interior makes it all the more desirable. It’s even air conditioned. Traction bars were added to get all that Cobra Jet power to the ground. After all, losing is not an option.

The Cobra Torinos were serious muscle cars coming out of Fords Showrooms. The Cobra Torino was initially offered with a 428ci Cobra Jet V8 with optional Ram Air package. A Drag Pack drivetrain package was then offered consisting of a 428ci Super Cobra Jet engine that came with either the Q-Code non-Ram Air or the R-Code Ram Air hood - our car is an R-Code car with the optional Drag-Pack. This car has undergone a frame on restoration in our restoration shop. Finished in the factory correct deep Candy Apple Red over Black interior, this is a very eye-catching package! This car has an upgraded Hurst shifter which is an upgrade that Road Test Magazine suggested after testing a Cobra Torino in the quarter mile and feeling that the car didnt shift quite as easily as it should. 1969 Ford Torino Fastback The car was named after the city of Turin (Torino, in Italian), considered the Italian Detroit. The Torino was initially an upscale variation of the intermediate sized Ford Fairlane, which Ford produced between 1962 and 1970. Exterior The GT Sports roof is seen on top and is painted to match the car in Orange Crush, which presents in good condition. American Racing Wheels are seen all around. Headliner is good, as well as door panels. Int the center of the dash is a factory AM radio. Noted the consigner states there is a clutch pedal installed, however it is non functioning. He installed it in hopes of possibly putting in a manual transmission in the future, however that never came to fruition. Drivetrain A 428CI V-8 backed by an automatic transmission is seen in a nicely detailed engine bay. Undercarriage Minor surface rust is seen, although there is very little of it. Floorpans, and frame appear to be in good condition. Standard steering and brakes are on the car. A clean well-kept car, this consigner simple lives too far away to ship the car and does not get to drive it as it should be driven on a regular basis.
