With the Lightning pickup, Ford seems to have tapped into a niche market that nobody else was able to conquer. Both Chevy and Dodge made a few half-hearted attempts, but quite honestly, no other truck was able to deliver the Lightnings combination of performance, luxury, and utility and today trucks like this low-mileage 2001 model represent a massive bang for the buck. With just 18,110 original miles and just one owner, this truck has obviously not been a daily driver and it shows. Ford gave the Lightning a very unique look that stands out without diluting the F150s looks or practicality. And quite honestly, its cool to see one of these that isnt bright red or white, with the nasty gloss black finish giving it the subtle look of a heavyweight fighter in a tuxedo. The deep chin spoiler is in excellent condition, and since its usually the first casualty of road use, thats very telling. The rest of the paint is exceptionally nice and its clear that someone spent a few hours every Saturday detailing the entire truck. It has not been modified save for a hard-shell tonneau cover, which is more evidence that this is a truck you can own without worries. The bed shows some signs of use, but fortunately theres a heavy-duty rubber mat that means the steel underneath is still in great shape, and that tonneau cover means its the worlds biggest weatherproof trunk. As a halo product, Ford made just about everything standard equipment on the Lightning, effectively blurring the line between truck, sports coupe, and luxury sedan. The power-adjustable cloth buckets are perhaps the most comfortable chairs found in any Ford product, and a wide center console allows a third person in a pinch. The controls will look familiar to anyone whos driven an F150, but SVT added their own touches like white-faced gauges, SVT embroidery on the seats, and a speedometer that shows 140 MPH, which is probably not just wishful thinking. Everything else, including power windows, A/C, and a powerful stereo with in-dash CD changer, was standard equipment. There is a shocking lack of major wear on any of the interior surfaces, again proving that someone was very careful with this potent pickup. Potent is the right word, too. The engine is a 5.4 liter OHC V8 with an intercooled supercharger, making a total of 380 horsepower. The 4-speed automatic transmission was beefed up with internals from the gearboxes designed to live behind diesels, and an aluminum driveshaft spins a 9-inch Track-Lok rear end with 3.73 gears. Smoking the tires is as easy as tickling the accelerator with you big toe. Ford upgraded the trucks suspension with Bilstein shocks, and the ride height has been lowered all around for an aggressive look. Even the brakes are massive, with discs at all four corners. Best of all, despite all this performance-enhancing hardware, payload capacity is a useful 1400 pounds and you can still haul a trailer. Its completely rust-free and everything remains in outstanding condition, with no signs of abuse or neglect underneath. Gorgeous 18x9.5-inch alloys make a bold statement and wear what appear to be the original 295/45/18 Goodyears, which might need to be replaced if youre going to put the truck into regular service. In 1976, when this Ford F150 Ranger XLT was built, the F-series was already on its way to becoming the best-selling vehicle in the world. Of course, thats easy to understand when they were as handsome and rugged as this long bed/regular cab example, which offers an appealing color combination, options like factory A/C, and a great-running 390 cubic inch V8. This vintage hauler offers just the right combination of functionality and flash, and the current condition is a wonderful testament to someones rather large investment in its care. The pretty Bahama Blue paint accentuates the trucks square-jawed look, and it looks like theres no project it cant handle. It also appears that this has always been a super clean original truck, because theres no evidence of panel replacements or significant metal surgery under the paint, and as a lifelong southern truck, rust is not really an issue. All the trim is in good original condition, including the cool stainless side molding that stretches the entire length of the truck, accentuating the length of the 8-foot bed. The front bumper is chrome and in pretty nice shape and the grille with its trademark high-mounted parking lights is instantly recognizable as a Ford from a mile away. In back, theres another shiny chrome bumper and the solid bed has just been finished with a non-skid bed liner material, making this truck ready to work or play. Oh, and a bed-mounted tool box helps keep it functional. The handsome blue crinkle cloth interior is original, but its still in good shape and probably shouldnt be restored. The bench seat wears funky 70s style patterns and shows that even a working class truck can have some style. The seat cover and door panel inserts are holding up well, while the gauges and instrument panel are also original and in very good condition. Ford gave F150 buyers a comprehensive set of instruments, but in 1974, things like A/C and an automatic transmission were expensive options (fortunately, this truck has both). Theres a newer AM/FM/CD stereo in the center of the dash feeding speakers in the doors, and it sounds impressive given the well-insulated cabin. Newer blue carpets certainly help with that and look great at the same time. 390 cubic inches is more than sufficient to get this truck moving in a hurry, and the engine bay itself is extremely clean and nicely detailed for a stock look. There are signs that some cosmetic clean-up was done a few years back, including nice Ford Blue paint on the air cleaner and valve covers, and basic black engine accessories like the massive A/C compressor. New hoses, plugs, wires and other maintenance items were installed recently, so it runs and drives beautifully, and theres a big aluminum radiator up front. A full dual exhaust system offers a great V8 rumble, which comes complements of new mufflers out back. The C6 3-speed automatic is virtually bulletproof and the chassis is proof enough that this is a clean truck from down south, one thats had a good amount of cash poured into it. Basic steel wheels with full wheel covers are factory-issue and carry 235/75/15 Michelin radials. If youre of a certain age, you grew up when these trucks were everywhere, but today nice ones are hard to find. Here is a pretty nice 1993 Ford F-150 XLT 4X4 short bed truck. According to Carfax it has never had an accident. The mileage on the truck is 105442 and Carfax backs that up. It has a good running 5.0 Liter engine connected to an automatic transmission. It runs out and shifts out good. The truck was bought new in Dallas, Ga and has remained in Georgia except for a month stay in Tennessee. The body is solid as is the floors and bed. The paint is good but not perfect. I would call it driver quality. The interior looks great with the seat, door panels, headliner and carpet all in good shape. It has power windows, power locks, power side mirrors and power drivers seat. Everything works like it should. it has tilt steering and a nice Kenwood Stereo/CD player. The tires are brand new Firestone 35X12.50R20LT and the wheels are new as well. Even bought 5 to have have matching spare. The lift is pretty new as well. It drives good on the road. Has a step to get up into truck. The 4WD works like it should. Just a good older 4X4 truck.

Take a nice mid 80s pickup like this Ford, update it with some fresh suspension components that make it drive better than it did when it was new, add a few custom touches to the interior, and you end up with one of the nicest F150s that you will ever drive. Or own. Because thats what you will want to do once you drive this truck. Lets start by checking out the cool paint job before we dive into the rest of the details. After proper preparation of all the body panels as well as the solid bed cover, a unique color of paint called Chop Top Silver was laid down. Then the hood was blacked out and a bold black stripe was laid down the side. The tailgate continued the theme with a blacked out the center. Trim all that black with Red pinstriping, and you have a sweet looking paint job. Compliment that with a blacked-out grill, paint the bumpers black, and go with black for the mirrors and window trim, including for the sliding back window in the cab. At that point you pretty much have to go with black wheels, so they did. The tilt up bed cover looks sweet in its expanse of Silver over a bed that received its share of love during the prep and paint too. Open the door and get ready to be pleasantly surprised. This is not your basic work truck. The entire interior appears to be brand new from the door panels with power window and lock switches at your fingertips to the carpets. But what will probably jump out at you first is the deep bucket seats that are black cloth with red stitching. They offer great back and leg support and are super comfortable. A 4-spoke GT steering wheel mounted on a tilt column looks good and feels good in your hands. The dash is stock XLT except for an aftermarket stereo that has been added for your listening pleasure which is AM/FM/CD/ Bluetooth and iPod compatible. The ventilation controls include those for the R134 A/C system that will keep you nice and cool on those hot summer days. There is a late model Ford shifter for the automatic transmission and a custom center console that provides nice storage and a comfortable armrest. The engine and drivetrain on this truck have received as much attention as the body and interior. Pop the hood and you will find a nicely appointed 5.8-liter engine with plenty of signs of good routine maintenance. All the belts and hoses appear to be new and the A/C compressor was recently replaced. The stock air topper is nicely polished up announcing the 5.8 with a 4-barrel carb underneath it. Ford Motorsport valve covers also look sharp and long tube headers are tucked down in there which lead back to a chambered exhaust system with an X pipe that gives the truck a healthy rumbling sound. Power is sent back through a 4-speed with overdrive automatic trans. The whole brakes system has been serviced up nicely with front disc brakes ready to haul this truck to a quick stop. The steering and suspension system have seen some nice upgrades with tubular components, Delrin bushings, and sway bars providing greatly improved handling and road feel. These trucks are getting more and more popular and its getting harder and harder to find a nice one. They have always been good looking, hard-working trucks, and this generation F-series helped make Ford become the best-selling truck in America, a title it has held ever since then. Here is your chance to buy one of these classics that has been nicely refreshed. It looks good enough to head out with on a Saturday night again, but its still Ford tough, so you can get the job done with it too. Check it out. Its obvious from the way the body panels line up so nicely on this truck that it has not had a hard knocks life. It also helps that Ford started using galvanized steel and zinc primers in order to prevent them from rusting. This one has been recoated in a nice shade of blue that shines nicely. Up front the truck leads with Ford in script on the leading edge of the hood with a big rectangular chrome grill underneath it flanked by rectangular headlights. A sharp looking chrome bumper underlines it all and the chrome continues down the side with edging around the wheel wells and a polished strip lengthwise down the side. The back looks especially sharp with chrome forming a rectangle around the tailgate and with a couple chrome exhaust tips peeking out from underneath a back bumper that looks brand new. Open the door and you will find an interior that is in excellent condition. The door panel has an upper panel done in silver-gray in a rectangular pattern and a lower panel with a long armrest done in black. The seat has been recovered nicely so looks excellent, and the carpet looks fresh because it has been replaced too. A two spoke steering wheel sits in front of a neat and clean dash that has the speedometer in the middle with the oil pressure, fuel, water temp, and voltage gauges off to the sides. The ventilation control, including those for the air conditioning system sit just above the Ford AM/FM radio. A nice headliner is also in good shape which not only looks good but goes a long way toward reducing cabin noise. The glove box has a nice burled wood look and the shifter for the 4-wheel drive system rises up out of the floor. Pop the hood and you will find a tried and true 351M motor nestled down in a very stock engine bay. There are signs of good regular maintenance with newer belts and hoses as well as new ignition components and a new air conditioning compressor. An aluminum topped air filter flows through a stock carburetor and intake manifold and out through stock exhaust manifolds to Flowmaster mufflers. Underneath the truck you will find a solid axle on leaf springs holding the back end up while the front axle is supported by coil springs and trailing arms along with new shocks all around help keep things under control. Power flows out through a three speed automatic transmission and the transfer case to get those 32 inch Wild Country tires mounted on new Chrome rims turning. This truck can be taken out on a Saturday night or put to work on Saturday moring. If you make it your truck, then you will be the one making that call.
Its hard to beat a 78 F150. It is a great looking truck that can get the job done, and everyone seems to want one these days. This one has been freshened up outside and inside with a brand new set of sneakers where the rubber meets the road,... or dirt. Check it out. Ford did a great job on this generation of their trucks. So much so that the F150 became the best- selling trucks during this time and hasnt looked back since then. The styling is clean and the look is rock solid. This one has been treated to a recoat of its original Raven Black paint using a basecoat/clearcoat system, and it looks fantastic. The panels all match up real nicely and the light reflects off them in long straight lines. Of-course black looks great dressed up with chrome so new front and rear bumpers were mounted that shine bright and look great. Ford appears in script on the front of the hood and an eggcrate grill is surrounded by nicely polished trim. The wheel wells are trimmed out in chrome too and polished side molding runs front to rear with a black accent strip in the center. The bed is rhino lined and the truck sits up on black and polished wheels that complete the look nicely. Open the door and you will find a Red and Black interior that has been completely refreshed. The door panel sets the tone with the black upper section looking good embossed with a square pattern underpinned by a red pleated lower panel. The rest of the interior really pops with the comfortable bench seat recovered in pleated red vinyl and fresh red carpeting looking almost too good to put your feet on. A nice set of floor mats might be a good idea in order to keep them looking new. Look up and you will notice the custom headliner that looks good and helps keep the cab quiet along with the trick windshield visors finished out in black and red. A two spoke steering wheel has the shifter for the automatic transmission on the column while the transfer case lever rises out of the floor. The dash is stock and nicely trimmed out in wood grain with and FM/Cassette deck for your listening pleasure. Pop the hood and you will find a 351M motor nestled down in the engine bay. This motor was introduced on these trucks as a replacement for the old FE motors, and is one of the things that propelled this truck to king of the hill status. The black air filter housing sits on top of a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake manifold. All the engine iron is looking good painted in Ford blue and a Mallory ignition system handles the spark. There are signs of good regular maintenance and a new battery to insure easy starting this winter. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic transmission, through the 4WD transfer case, and out to solid axles front and rear that are limited slip with 3.50 gears. Fresh shocks all around as well as a new steering damper help this truck drive nice and front disc brakes provide good stopping power. Its new sneakers are pretty aggressive Maxxis Mudder tires that are 305/70R16 all around mounted on those great looking Ion aluminum wheels. This great looking F150 is kind of a dual sport of pickup trucks. Its a great looking street machine that you can be proud to pull up to a restaurant or show in, but it has serious cred when it comes to getting the job done where the pavement ends too. Check it out. A recent respray in this beautiful Dark Blue was done in a basecoat/clearcoat system to give it a nice shine and also good durability. An eggcrate grill is flanked by AVS tinted headlight covers that blend in with the paint for a nice look as well. But as they arent building them anymore, the trick is finding one, like this one, that has been nicely reconditioned. Check it out. This is a big red pickup with broad shoulders and a serious stance that lets you know its ready to rumble. But before a drop of that beautiful Red paint was sprayed on, the surface of the sheet metal was smoothed out nicely and the panels adjusted so that the gaps were consistent. Up front a black eggcrate grill flanked by single headlights set in black is trimmed in polished aluminum with Ford lettered across the front of the hood and a sharp looking chrome bumper underlining it. A gray and silver pinstripe runs down the side and a custom side step comes in handy while climbing up and in. Out back, the tailgate has Ford letters in black on the tailgate and a black bumper with a trailer receiver has dual oval exhaust tips peeking out from underneath it. The bed itself is ready for work or play with spray in bedliner. Open the door and you will find a sharp looking Red interior with a few nice updates. The door panel itself is stock with a nice armrest for comfortable long-haul cruising. The bench seat has been reupholstered in comfortable red cloth and an aftermarket leather wrapped steering wheel is mounted on a three spoke hub with a Ford center button and it feels good in your hands. The shifter for the automatic transmission is mounted on the column and the one for the transfer case is mounted on the floor in the center. The dash panel is stock with easily visible gauges that include the speedo in the center with fuel, oil pressure, water temp and voltage off to the sides. There is a Sony AM/FM/CD and iPod compatible stereo in the dash with speakers mounted behind the seat for your listening pleasure. A little custom pinstriping appears on the dash next to the wood grain glove box and rubber floor mats protect the carpeting. Pop the hood and you will find a freshly rebuilt 351M motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. The motor was bored .030 over and had a mild cam installed in the process of the rebuild. A polished air topper sits on top of a Holley 4-barrel carb which feeds an Edelbrock intake manifold. MSD handles the ignition duties and stock exhaust manifolds get the spent gasses heading back to dual Flowmaster mufflers giving this truck a nice healthy sound. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic transmission and the transfer case to the rear axle mounted on leaf springs while up front, coil springs get the job done. The steering has all been refreshed with new components as well as new bushings and shocks. Power front disc brakes assure good stopping ability and the rubber meets the road through 305/70R16 Patagonia MT tires mounted on deep dish aluminum wheels that have only been driven from the tire store to our showroom. No Paypal payments1992 Ford F150 XLT 4X4 Extended Cab You will be hard pressed to find a nicer original-ish 92 F150. I am a General Manager for a Chevrolet Dealership and most of the Repairs have been done at our shop. The truck was my brothers and when he passed, I kept it as a toy and for sentimental reasons. It has been in our family for about 24 years. Several years back I had it repowered with a Jasper H.O 5.0 engine. The transmission was replaced at the same time. Most of the paint is original. Last Year I put new carpet, Leather and a windshield in it. The windshield was getting foggy around the edges and it drove me nuts. I also had them rebuild the front end including a new steering box. Both fuel tanks have been replaced. It is not a show quality truck but could be very easily. To my knowledge everything works except the power window on the passenger door. She has a small tear in the headliner, I never wanted fixed because my brother did it. She is sitting on a two-inch body lift with aftermarket wheels and tires. The wheels are chrome and pitted. They need to be replaced. The tires look like new, but they are old. It doesn’t get driven much. Just noticed that on the driver’s side drip rail there is a couple of rust spots that needs to be repaired. Please no low ball offers, this is not a fire sale. Thanks for looking
