History:In 1948, the famous F-series truck was unveiled. Advertised as Bonus Built, the F-1 marked Fords first all new , post World War II line of commercial vehicles that ranged from the half ton F-1 to the three ton F-8. With a one piece windshield and side vent windows, the redesigned cabs front end featured a recessed grille and headlamps along with squared fenders. The spare tire, moved from the side, was now mounted under the load floor as it is today. A new six cylinder engine, the rouge 226, boasted 95 horsepower. The redesigned 100 horsepower Rouge 239 V-8 was also available. The 1950s marked a movement to make trucks more car like in comfort and styling. 1951 featured a redesigned front end, a larger rear window and a new instrument panel.Recent History: In 2004 a professional frame-off restoration was started on the truck. It would take a year to get it back together. We took our time and did it right as Henry Ford had intended it. We used the internet and did the research to find New Old Stock if we could or vendors that had bought the rights from Ford to reproduce the parts we needed. We sought out people that new the engine, transmission, and rear axle that we rebuilt. Every mechanical part was rebuilt. All electrical parts were rebuilt or rewired. Every nut and bolt was replaced. Every part that need paint was sand blasted, primed and painted the correct color. This truck is all steel with no fiberglass or bondo. We dont have to tell you this 1950 Ford F-1 is not your average pickup. After all, you can tell from the first impression that someone invested heavily in this one, and with less than 1,300 miles on it, the whole feeling is exceptionally fresh. But make sure you take the time to see all the detail including the fuel-injected Corvette power because this is the build thats worth your whole attention. From a distance, you can already tell this is a mean street machine just by the stance. And the body work is amazing. Just look at the front end. The bumper was removed, inches were chopped out of it (count the bars in the grille,) and then it was seamlessly welded together for a very custom and smooth presentation. Then you look at the cab. It has been chopped 2.5 inches and extended 4 inches. Plus, the bed was shortened. The result is a vintage truck that looks like a speedy wind has contoured it over the channeled frame. And the red paint that was applied on top has such a butter-smooth finish and a hard shine, that you cant even see any evidence of all the custom work they did to these panels. And this is a truck that has more to offer the more you look at it. Youll love the details, like the sporty Ford badge with pinstripe, sports mirrors, shaved door handles, and louvers in the hood and tailgate. And beneath the fiberglass bed cover, youll even find real oak wood on the bed floor. The full custom experience continues inside. The custom seat has individual bolstering with two-tone comfortable cloth. And any time you want bucket-level comfort, just put down the armrest center console. This one has all the best features, including an overhead console that houses the AM/FM/CD/stereo, door controls, and a nifty Dakota Digital gear shift indicator. That leaves plenty of room on the dash for the air conditioning vents, as well as great design touches like the return of the Ford logo and pinstripe package. So this one is built to be both comfortable and ready to show off. Thats why youll be happy to slip behind the banjo-style steering wheel with classic Ford V8 logo. The polished Ididit steering column tilts to get you comfortable, and the full classic instruments gauge package keeps you expertly informed. The engine bay proudly displays the LT1 fuel-injected V8 motor donated by a Corvette. Its car show ready with chrome valve covers, polished alternator, inner fender inserts, billet accessory drive, and plenty of bright plumbing. Plus, the firewall and has been smoothed and finished to the same high standards as the rest of the body. But more than just look great, the V8 was producing 300 horsepower originally, and the Street and Performance ECM with reprogrammed chip has likely added a healthy upgrade to the already impressive power figure. Thats why the whole truck has been upgraded. The undercarriage photos will show you the strong reinforced boxed frame, upgraded front suspension with thick front sway bar, TCI four-link rear, and adjustable coilovers. And just like a Corvette, this has four-wheel disc brakes. Plus, because we know you want to show off this custom build near and far, it has great driving features like power steering, cruise control, and a four-speed automatic transmission with highway friendly overdrive. The sale comes complete with a large receipt file and detailed restoration photos, so you can re-live this customs full transformation journey. This is a truck that looks great and drives even better. Its a Ford pickup that attracts a lot of attention, but the enthusiast who will enjoy it most is the one sitting behind the wheel. This type of all original F1 Ford truck with low original miles does not come around often. This is my father-in-laws and I am selling it for him. It has been in same family since purchased. Purchased by his uncle, Grady Kiser, on February 17, 1949 and part of a multi-truck purchase for York County, South Carolina vehicles - all ordered from factory and painted “SCDOT” yellow. The truck was purchased from the dealer in York, SC. The truck was then purchased from Grady Kiser’s estate by his brother, Elbert Kiser, on December 15, 1952 then the title and truck passed on to my father-in-law July 24, 1996. It has remained in the family's possession until now. Frame off restoration in the mid 90's. Many spare parts exist like the original radio, speaker and heater controls. If you are serious and need more photos, I have more I can send via e-mail or via a drop box link. The sale also includes the original bill of sale, title and copies of the photos of the original owner. There is one small depression in the drivers side hood that most would not notice. Great mechanical and driving condition. Payment is due within 7 days once a buy sell agreement has been signed. The truck will continue to be marketed until the sale is complete. Certified bank check or wired funds are acceptable forms of payment. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If the seller is not dealt with in a fair and professional manner, seller may elect to cancel the purchase with no penalty and relist the truck. E-mail me with questions and happy bidding!
